"Shouldn't you be getting your kid's input on the car since you know you're getting it for her to drive around?" T.O. looked from the car to Tig.
"She ain't picky, man," Tig waved him off, looking at the interior before popping the hood. "But this car will need some serious work under the hood."
Tig shook his head before closing the hood and turning towards the owner, "How much do you want for the car?"
"Five grand."
"Nah, man, I will have to put at least that much into the car to get it up and running again. There's no way," Tig shook his head. "I'll give you two for it, and that's pushing it."
"No can do, man."
"You won't even get that much for it, especially since it needs some serious work. The exterior and interior are okay, but it needs some serious work under the hood."
"Can't do it, man, sorry."
"Come on, man, let's go," T.O. said before turning towards the car's owner. "Thanks, but we're going to keep looking."
"Seriously, that car isn't even worth the five grand," Tig stated as they returned to their bikes. "Besides, I can't have my kid breaking down on the road."
"All used cars are going to need some work, brother. You won't have to worry about that only if you buy one straight from the dealership."
Tig paused before getting on his bike but shook his head, "Nah, man, I'm already going to get enough hell from her about getting her a used one when she told me to drop it and let her get it on her own."
"Then why are you going through all this trouble to find a car if you know she ain't going to accept it?"
"Because she'll accept it, but she will give me hell about it first."
"You almost done with the Henderson order?" Rita looked over at Lennox before glancing at the clock. "He should be here soon to pick up the floral arrangement for his wife's birthday."
"It's just about finished; I'm just adding some final touches to it," Lennox answered as she added baby breath flowers to the arrangement.
"Good because here he comes."
The bell above the door rang, and a man in his mid-fifties with salt and pepper hair stepped in. "Good afternoon, ladies. How are you today?"
"I'm doing well, Mr. Henderson and yourself?" Lennox looked over her shoulder at him as she grabbed the arrangement before turning towards him to place it on the counter in front of him.
"I'm doing well myself as well. Job well done, I see. My wife will surely love this. Thank you both," he said, taking in the sunflowers and roses with baby breath weaved into the bouquet arrangement.
"You're welcome, Mr. Henderson, but this was all Lennox," Rita motioned toward her with a proud smile. "I hope you and your wife have a lovely day celebrating her birthday."
