As soon as Maya and Josh were outside of the restaurant, Maya pulled her hand out of Josh's grip. They both continued to walk to his car, but as Josh stopped when they reached it, Maya kept walking.

"Where are you going?" He asked her.

"Home." She stated as she kept walking.

"Maya the car is over here!" He shouted at her as she got further away from him.

"I'm walking!" She shouted back. Josh's eyes widened.

"What!" He yelled back at her. But this time Maya ignored him as she kept walking. Josh started walking after her. "Maya get in the car!" He yelled at her.

"No! I'm not getting in a car with you!" She yelled back.

"Maya, its forty degrees out! And you are not walking home in that dress, do you know what someone would do to you if they saw you in that dress?" He asked her. This was not the right thing to say. Maya rounded on him.

"What does it matter!" She glared at him. "You and Mrs. Austin both think I'm a slut, so who cares, right!" She yelled. Josh glared at her.

"What are you talking about! I never called you a slut!" He told her with as much anger in his tone as she had. Maya shook her head.

"You didnt have to." She turned back around and started walking again. But Josh had the longer legs and was able to cut in front of her before she could get very far.

"I dont understand you!" He told her. "I just defended you in there and all you do is yell at me?" He asked. Maya scoffed!

"Defend me?" She asked sarcastically. "Oh! I get it, when its you that calls me names and tears me down its one thing! But God forbid someone else says anything! What, Josh is that only your job?" Josh looked around and then came to stand right in front of her.

"You're making a scene." He whispered. Maya scoffed and took a step back.

"I dont believe you." She shook her head. "Whats the matter, Josh? Afraid that someone might actually see how imperfect you are? That the Joshua Matthews isn't the good boy he claims to be?" They both stared at each other as people going in and out of the restaurant glanced at them curiously.

"Maya, please go get into the car. We can talk about this on the way back." He whispered, his voice shaking. Maya shook her head.

"Why cant you just say it. Say that it bothers you when I'm with Leo, that it bothers you when that waiter tried to hit on me while we were in there. Why do you have to continually push me down instead of just saying how you feel?" She asked. Josh stared at her. "Why cant you just say that you're jealous?" She asked him.

"Is that why you wore that dress tonight? To make me jealous?" He asked her seriously. Maya threw her head back.

"My God, Josh! You dont get it! No I didnt wear this dress to make you jealous, but you are! You pinned me in the elevator today because you couldn't stand the thought that a part of me might still have feelings for Leo! But yet, every time you continue to push me away and treat me like I'm nothing!"

"That's not true!" He interrupted her shaking his head. "You know, you yell and scream at me for not being truthful about the way I feel, but what about you, huh? You aren't exactly open yourself!"

"Bull shit!" She snapped. "My feelings have been out there since middle school! You honestly think that they've changed? Either you want me, Josh, or you dont! But I will not continue to let you pin me down and throw me around in the dirt!"
