Coffee. That’s it. That’s all I needed. It was 6:45am, very cold, and coffee was the one and only thing I could think about. I crossed the street when the light turned green and breathed into the air, a fog coming from my mouth and a clack coming from my boots. I looked down at what I was wearing as I walked, black skinny jeans, a much-too-thin long sleeved shirt, my sweater and a big scarf. Work was pretty casual.
I turned the corner to see that the Starbucks line was out the door. Awesome, I thought to myself as I stood reluctantly in line, crossing my arms and tucking my frozen hands under my armpits. I looked around at the people in line, mostly older people in business suits and such, getting their coffee fix before work… like me. In front of me in line was a pretty tall guy, his hair hidden under a beanie he was dressed in skinny jeans himself along with a jacket. I watched him as he stretched his arms out and looked up at the rain that had started drizzling down on us, taking his hands up to pull his beanie down a bit more.
I pulled out my phone to text my friends…
This guy in front of me in line for starbucks is literally Luke Hemmings.
I kept my phone in my hands, waiting for a text back. My phone buzzed and I looked down to see I had received a reply.
Pics or it didn’t happen.
I creepily pulled up the camera on my phone, snapping a picture of the back of the random guy’s head and quickly pulling my phone down, pressing send. A minute passed before I got a response.
he does hella look like him!! get his number lmao ;)
my other friend responded as well,
LKDFOISMA. HAHAH WATCH IT ACTUALLY BE HIM.
I typed back,
Lmao it’s not, but i would literally die. Like I would die.
I stuck my phone back in my pocket as the stranger held his arm out to hold the door open for me as I finally got inside. “thank you” I muttered as the door slowly shut behind me, cutting the line in half and the heat from out of the store.
I pulled out my phone again, being able to comfortably take my hands out of my arm pits and pulled up instagram. Right as I did so I heard a loud laugh of a tall blonde girl walking towards the door with her coffee. I looked up from my phone to see she was smirking at the boy in front of me. She stopped right next to me and the door as she started talking to him.
I looked at her. She was pretty. Long, straight, blonde hair, very thin, and quite tall with her heels she had on. Her nails were long and pink, her makeup was dark and her lipstick bold.
“What the hell are you doing in San Francisco?” She asked the boy in front of me. He shrugged his shoulders and looked forward, not seemingly interested in this girl talking to him.
“Come on Luke,” She said, “You’re not even going to give me the time of day?”
Luke? Is his name actually Luke? I kept watching this go down.
“How are you?” The boy finally responded with an incredibly obvious accent.
Holy shit. This was either an absolutely insane coincidence or the actual Luke Hemmings at 7am in the same Starbucks as me in San Francisco. I played it back in my head, it was way too good to be true, but I kept listening to their conversation.
“I’m fine, going to see my boyfriend to help him into his new loft. It’s really nice.” She said.
“Wow, good for you,” The boy said sarcastically, finally turning around to face her.
