Chapter 7

Thomas PoV

I woke up at around 9. I knew that I wouldn't be going to class today. Fuck, I doubt I'd be going tomorrow- I actually get to have date, well hangout, with James. I jumped in the shower and smiled to myself. I still couldn't believe he actually said yes. I mean, it was probably a pity yes, but that's still technically a yes. I stepped out of the shower and brushed my hair and put it up into a bun. Then, I threw a sweatshirt on and walked outside, checking my watch. 10:15. Oh. I have time.

Walking outside I took in the day. Even though it was becoming autumn, it wasn't getting that chilly yet. I noticed Hercules walking to his next class when I caught his eye. He stopped and ran over to me, grabbing my hand and kissing me.

"Babe are you excited for tonight?" He hugged me.

"Uh what the actual fuck, Herc." I pushed him off.

I've never seen a man's face turn to absolute terror so quickly. "You're not Laf." He stated.

"No shit." I said dryly.

"I'm... gonna go." He walked away slowly.

I nodded, "And Thomas? Take your hair down, you like my boyfriend." It dawned on me what just happened as he went into a building. I took my hair out of the bun and took out my laptop. Only 7 hours to go.

There's a lot you can do in 7 hours. For one, it gives you a lot of time to think about why you thought it was smart to skip class. Although I did get caught up on all of my work, and I was able get a bagel, so I'd say it was a win.

Another thing: You get to do a lot of people watching. There was Laurens and Peggy arguing if BTS or Twice was better, obviously Twice. I noticed Hamilton walk across the lawn like 5 times trying to find his book. Then there was Angelica, Eliza, and Maria having a water gun fight.

Finally, it was 5:45. I walked over to the Starbucks and grabbed a seat. James walked in at exactly 6... with Aaron trailing behind him. Well then.

James smiled at me, "Hey Thomas! Aaron asked to come if that's ok." Aaron nodded to me and pulled up a chair. I cussed under my breath and smiled.

"Of course, I mean, we are just like, hanging out, no big deal... ha." I replied awkwardly. Aaron glared at me for a second before grabbing James's hand. "I'm gonna buy a coffee ok?" James nodded and we gave him our orders.

We sat and talked uncomfortably for a little while before Aaron looked at his phone. "Ah I've got to go find Alex... promised him a debate." He muttered and stood up, gently pushing in his chair and giving James a swift kiss on the cheek. James straightened up and waved as Aaron walked out the door. I breathed a sigh of relief as I saw Aaron jogging away.

James chuckled, "He likes to go out a lot, lots of things to do." I nodded and looked down. "James... I feel really bad  about everything that's going on. You maybe wanna come back to my dorm and watch a movie, like, platonically..?" I said really quickly. He gave a small smile and blush but it was quickly replaced with questioning look. "Did you just, invite me to our dorm..?" I stiffened.

"Ah well uh- I assumed you moved out and- and-" I stuttered out. He laughed and rubbed the back of his neck. "Yeah! Let's go, I miss the mac & cheese anyway..." A little piece of me died of happiness I swear to god. We got up, payed for the drinks, and walked out of the Starbucks, laughing and smiling.
