Seonghwa whined once again, kicking his legs up and down as he laid on his stomach on their living room couch, similar to a kid throwing a tantrum.
"Bro, stop whining. I'm trying to eat my snacks peacefully but can't because you're acting like a child who didn't get the toy he wanted." Seongwoo rolled his eyes, scolding his older brother.
"OH I'm sorry, Seongwoo. I'm sorry that my stupid secret admirer caused a problem that landed me a slap."
"OOHH did Jeonghwa get mad? Was she the one that slapped you?"
"I think she's more of sad, the look in her eyes broke my heart when I got a glance. And no she did not slap me, it was her best friend, Jung Siyeon."
"What exactly happened?" Seongwoo sat on top of his brother, earning a pained groan from the elder.
"Remember when I went to that one party? Yeah a girl, the host, drugged me and claimed she'd hurt my Jeonghwa if I didn't read some foolish script she wrote talking about, quote on quote, how I loved her. The thing is I wasn't aware she took an audio recording and she posted it on her SNS. Jeonghwa and her friends found out and now they're mad at me."
"Damn, bro. Hide from Jeongin, he doesn't joke around when it comes to someone hurting his older sister. He highly respects her."
"I know,"
"Also did you just say 'my Jeonghwa'? C'mon man, you aren't even together yet!" The younger teased.
"Shut up, it just slipped."
"Even worse. Anyway, told you you shouldn't have gone to that party. It's partly your fault for not joining me and Jeongin to our boys' night. Also that slap looks so painful," Seongwoo scanned his brother's face, looking genuinely concerned. We all need a brother like Seongwoo.
"Maybe because it does?? And I'm SORRY I didn't want to build a fort and decorate it with fairy lights just to play Fortnite until 2 in the morning."
"We had cheese popcorn though. Oh! Do you want ice? I'll get you some ice, I'll be back." Seongwoo jumped off from sitting on Seonghwa's back and scurried to the kitchen.
"I'm back! Now, I'm not too sure but you aren't really close with anyone in your university, right?"
"Right,"
"Call Kim Hongjoong, he'll know what to do."
Seonghwa almost jumped up from from his laying position, eyes finally bright again ever since that night happened. "Why didn't I think of that earlier. Thank you so much, Seongwoo. I'm glad you're my brother." The lad then ran off to look for his phone.
"I know,"
"Seonghwa! We haven't talked in a while, how have- Oh? What's with the sigh? You're usually always excited to talk." Hongjoong greeted but immediately noticed that something was wrong. After all, they have been friends since middle school and they didn't spend all those years together for nothing.
"Hey Joong, I know this is kinda shameless of me to do since we haven't talked in a while but do you remember the girl I told you about? Yoo Jeonghwa? Well, I kinda have an issue with her right now."
"It's no worries! Go ahead, tell me."
"About a month ago, a new student joined our university for the second semester. Her name is Jeon Hanae. Recently, she confessed to me but I told her I like someone else and that made her angry.
"After that, I went to her frat party thinking it would be harmless and besides, Jeonghwa was going too. But when Jeonghwa and her friends went to the restroom, she approached me and gave me some weird drink containing a drug that made me loopy and vulnerable.
"Basically, she threatened that she would lay a hand on Jeonghwa if I didn't read a ridiculous paragraph talking about how much I love her. I was unaware of her taking an audio recording and I guess you can figure out the rest." Seonghwa ended, feeling a mixture of emotions. He wanted to scream and yell explaining to Jeonghwa about what happened, but he also wanted to tear out Hanae's hair for hurting his almost lover which she ruined.
A disheartened chuckle left the latter's lips, "Damn, Seonghwa. You weren't so caught up in love just 3 months ago."
"I know, shut up." The brunette sighed. "As if that wasn't bad enough, I got slapped by Jeonghwa's friend. Although, I forgive her since they doesn't know my side of the story yet,"
"Ooohh, that must hurt. Put some ice on it, okay?"
"Already did,"
"Alright, what time do you get off of class tomorrow? My last class ends at 2:30 so we can meet up in the café in front of your university then talk about your situation. How does that sound?"
"My last class ends at 3:00 so you might have to wait. But yeah, let's meet up."
"Wait, listen to me first. Do you think they trust you enough to think someone set you up?"
"Hopefully, I'm not sure."
"Find out first then tell me when we meet up tomorrow. For now, stop pressuring and blaming yourself. What's important is that you know the truth, we just need to get them to believe you. Try to avoid them for now, they need to cool down otherwise you might get a black eye."
"Thank you so much, Hong. I appreciate it a lot. See you tomorrow, love you, slight homo."
"See you tomorrow, Hwa. You can do this!!" Hongjoong cheered, chuckling again but this time lightheartedly before he finally hung-up.
"You're welcome, Hwa." A proud smile painted Seongwoo's face, overhearing the elder's and Hongjoong's call.
