Prologue

The moons rose, casting long shadows upon the murky water. Crickets chirped in the reeds beside the river,  and the beetles calmly floating upon the surface of the slow moving water lazed, enjoying the faint light the moon cast upon their shells.

"Lux," the dragon whispered, and there was light. The three moons, two of which were full, seemed dazzled by the sudden show of light, and crept back the way they had come. The star strewn sky dimmed, the very star's shutting off. But this did not matter. For there was light.

The dragon was of a lithe build.
