Chapter 23

Hello!

I'm so sorry I haven't updated in a month. I have been stressing for finals and the end of the school. But now its finally over and I passed the year! So now I can update more often this summer! So lets get on with the chapter!

Clary sat there and stared at the the wall the monster had gone through with Abby. That portal had just appeared and then they were gone. Pain shot through her body and she gasped from the pain. Jace just stood there not saying anything.

"J-Jace..." Clary said. "I tried. I really did." She tried to get up but only fell back to the ground. Clary cried out in pain. Alec went over to go help her but Jace had pushed him to the side.

Jace walked over to her, more like stormed over to her. He grabbed her harshly. Jace threw her over his shoulder and started to walk off with her. "Jace!! Put her down know!!" Alec yelled and started running after them.

Jace spun around and kicked Alec's feet out from under him. Alec hit the ground hard and groaned in pain. "Alec..." Clary whimpered as Jace started off again down the corridor.

Isabelle and Simon stepped in front of them. "Put her down." Isabelle spit at Jace. Jace glared at her and swung at her. Simon quickly grabbed his has and stopped him. Jace jerked his arm free and kicked Simon back, making him hit the ground. "Simon!" Izzy cried out. She swung at Jace again but he pushed her into the wall.

By that time Jace was running down the hall. He had raced to his room and slammed the door shut. He locked it quickly. He set Clary down on his bed and reached in his back pocket.

That was the first time Clary saw his room since she arrived at the institute. It had some of Abby's things every where. Her heart started to ache. She noticed pictures of them together all over the room.

"Why did you-" Clary didn't get to finish because Jace's lips crashed against hers. Clary froze at first. She went to go push him away but he pinned her arms against the bed. She tried to struggle but he pressed his body against hers. He pulled away slightly.

"I'm sorry. I just had to do that one last time." He said and walked away into the bathroom. She sat there stunned for a minute. She heard the shower water running. Clary grabbed a pen and paper and wrote a note to Jace saying she would bring back Abby. She grabbed something of Abby's and drew a tracking rune on her arm. She saw where Abby was and Clary gasped. Abby was chained to a wall in Wayland manor. Clary made a portal and looked back at Jace's room.

"Goodbye, Jace." And with that Clary had jumped through the portal to go save the love of her life's fiancé for him.
