Alola, amour!

Chapter 3 ~ Airport and many toughts

"Serena, you sure you have everything you need now? Your bag is so small looking and..." said the worried-looking May and Serena realized that the girl was very reminiscent of her mother. Caroline was a similar worrier like May, and at times it irritated Serena quite a bit.

They were at the airport and Serena's flight to Alola would soon depart. May had come to accompany her friend and they were currently sitting on the airport benches waiting for Serena's flight to depart.

Serena had let her Pokémon out of their Pokeballs and now they did what they did near the benches. Pancham and Sylveon were practicing something spectacular, but Braixen instead sat down on the bench, closed her eyes, and decided to take a nap while waiting.

Serena looked at her worried friend, restrained herself, and said calmly, "No problem, May. I have everything I need, and if something is missing, I can buy it from Alola."

May didn't look convinced and Serena continued, "Look, May, as I traveled around Kalos, after all, for a few months I managed a small backpack, so I don't think it would be very difficult to get to a place where everything you need is close by." May seemed to relax a little and didn't seem so anxious anymore. "Okay, then," she said.

"How long did you to stay in Alola?" she then asked and Serena thought for a moment before answering.

"I'm not sure", she said. "Probably at least a month. I need a decent break and I don't think a week or two is enough"

Serena noticed that May looked a little sad. It was clear that she would miss Serena when she was gone. "C'moon, May. Pick up a little. These are not final farewells. I'll come back when I'm ready and I'm sure that time goes fast."

Serena put her hands on May's shoulders and to her mind became that brings gesture reminded her of her a very important person. "I do not want to see the last matter that my friend looks sad." May looked into Serena's eyes and then smiled slightly. "You are propably right", she said.

Serena gasped as the Announcement interrupted her thoughts. "The flight to Alola leaves from gate D13. Please take your belongings and your Pokemon and go to gate D13"

"Right, everyone," Serena said. Pancham and Sylveon interrupted whatever they were doing at that moment and Braixen opened her eyes. "I'm sorry, but you must now go back to your balls," Serena said, then added, "Return", indicating all three Pokéball to her Pokemons.

They returned to them and Serena gently placed the balls in her bag. Then she turned to see May, who had been watching Serena quietly all this time.

"Well, I think it's a goodbye time", she said, hugging Serena. "I'm going to miss you", she said and Serena nodded. Then, Serena withdrew from the hug and said, "Well, I must probably go now if I don't want to miss my flight" Then she left walk towards the right gate and waved as she left for May. And then she had already disappeared into the crowd.

Serena wound through the mass of people while her mind was full of thoughts. What kind of place would Alola end up with? Would it really be the same "tropical paradise" as the brochures advertised, or would the whole thing be a mere hoax? And how long would she actually go to this "complete break"? Week? Two weeks? Month? Maybe even half a year? Serena sighed and continued to slip through the mass of humans and Pokémon. The airport was now full. Completely different than last time when she had been here...

She had just arrived in Hoen then, and her thoughts had gone somewhere else. At another airport, to be exact. Serena's cheeks had been red as she had walked through a much less crowded airport then.

She had done the most courageous act of her life at that time, and her thoughts were still there at that moment. Or actually, it's been a few hours since then, but still.
