Happy Holidays!
Here's a Holiday Gift from me to you!
I waddle down the steps of our two-story house that's decorated in Christmas ornaments from head to toe. Jace went all out this year with decorating. It seems like Katherine and his holiday decorating battle is in his favor this year. I don't want anything to do with it, Halloween was more than enough for me to know that. He scared Jack so bad, Jack refused to sleep by himself and I made Jace sleep on the couch because of it.
"Jace!" I call out. "Where are you!"
"I'm in the living room! I'm trying to find Jack's favorite toy. Have you seen it?" His favorite toy? Oh, the giraffe!
I walk into the living room. My husband is bent over looking under the couch. "Yeah, it's at Katherine's. He left it there. Why? Is he asking for it?"
"Yeah, he refuses to leave his room without the giraffe. Shit, I should have known it was there. I don't know why I didn't call you or Katherine sooner. All of his or Kats things are split between our two homes. But anyway," he looks down at me. "You look amazing," he comments.
"Thanks." I'm wearing my extra stretch maternity leggings that Jace brought me and an off the shoulder red sweater for the holidays of course. I'm feeling very festive this year.
"Oh, you need help putting on your shoes?"
"Yeah, sorry. My stomach is huge, I can't even bend over."
Jace leads me to the living room couch. "Well, this is why I'm here." Jace slides my shoes onto my feet. He's become so good at this, well he was always good at this. When I was pregnant with Jack, he helped me do everything.
"Thank you," I smile. I extend my hand, "can you help me up?"
"Yeah, here," Jace grabs my hand and pulls me up from the couch. "Well, I'll tell Jack about his toy and finish getting him dressed and then we can head out."
Speaking of getting Jack dressed. "Oh, I almost forgot to tell you. You know that sweater she got him. She wants him to wear it to dinner. Katherine is making him and Kat, take pictures together."
"Okay, roger that." Jace walks by me and runs up the stairs. "Jack! Jack! I know where it is now! You can stop looking, son!"
It doesn't take very long for Jace and Jack to finish getting ready. "You two look amazing," I gush to my two boys.
"You look amazing too, mommy," he runs up to my stomach and kisses it, "Abby," he coos. My heart! Jackson grabs my hand, "come on. I have to talk to Kat."
"Really? About what?"
"It's a secret," he smiles. I turn back to look at Jace. Jace would know, he tells Jace everything.
He merely shrugs his shoulders, "beats me. I'm sure we'll find out soon enough." Jace opens the door for me and Jack and we all walk to our car. Jace toned down his choice in vehicles since having Jack. Something about him wanting to be a real suburban dad.
He traded in his two-seater sports cars for expensive five-seater ones. Yes, it's still a Mercedes but it's a family one. Jace takes Jack from my hand and lifts in over his shoulders and straps him into the car.
I waddle my way to the car and do the same. "Come on daddy! We have to hurry! I promised Kat, I'll be there on time."
He's rushing us? Not too long ago he wouldn't let us leave because he couldn't find his stuffed animal. Jace holds one of my hands and the other grips the steering wheel. "Do you think Katherine cooked or did she hire the caters again?"
