i saw a black girl standing there
and to me, it looked like she wasn't even here
unconnected with reality
she fought for some sense of rationality
her eyes held unshed tears
her bags overweighed her fears
the scars she carried were so clear and precise
i thought her last breath would be a sweet demisewhy do you do yourself so?
the greatest enemy is your own foe
why don't you see what I see?
don't you see that melanin dripping skin could be thee
your liscious, glistening waves of hair
your curves and angles that give you flairdon't you see, darling?
