Beverly Marsh was by no means insane. Sure, she felt crazy sometimes, but she knew it was just because of everything hectic going on. She often disassociated herself just because she needed to know that there was more to life than constant dizziness.

Surely, when she started seeing them, she'd freak out. She'd scream and wonder why these people were in her room, she'd try so desperately to run away. Surely, right?

Wrong.

Beverly was careful, she was cautious and smart. So when these, "hallucinations" began to rip through her conscious and be some of the only things she could see, she didn't scream, or run, or even cry. She was careful, she was kind and she just listened.

She often sat in her room, listening to them bicker and argue over who would be the first to say something to her. It always ended in shameless flirting, very shameless flirting.

"Well, that's why you're so special!" The demon, Richie, pinched the angel's cheek, "You're just so tiny, I could fit you right in my pocket!"

The angel, Eddie, swatted his hand away, "You don't even have pockets, dumbass!"

Richie turned to Beverly, "Tell him he's being mean!"

"I- I- uh-" Beverly stuttered.

"You're making her uncomfortable!" Eddie squeaked.

Richie just crossed his arms and rolled his eyes, smiling fondly at Eddie when he wasn't looking.

Beverly only found it odd, odd that this happened to her of all people. It was just that, odd.

There they were now, Eddie sitting next to her, playing with her hair, having Richie right next to him, hugging his waist while talking about something so fast that Beverly couldn't comprehend it. Eddie didn't seem to mind, only humming small 'mhhm's just to assure Richie he was listening.

Beverly hadn't even said more than one sentence to them since they'd showed up. Was there even anything for her to say?

"Richie?" Beverly's voice was oddly small, like she was intimidated.

Richie lifted himself up, leaning on Eddie's shoulders so that he could make eye contact with her, "You called?"

"I- Why do you talk so fast?" Beverly's voice grew slightly stronger.

"Well you see, Eds and I-" Richie started.

"Don't call me that." Eddie chirped effortlessly, as if it were a built habit (it was).

"Eds, and I were humans at one point, duh. I had adhd so bad that normally standing still was a struggle."

Eddie chimed in, "Whenever he really needed to say something, he talked really fuckin' fast, It took me forever to learn how to understand it."

Richie shrugged, "Yeah, I'm broken."

"You're not broken!" Eddie scoffed, "You're Richie and that's what I like about you."
