"No!" Aqaurius heard Johnathan's desperate shout, as he rushed towards her. The sizzling of a lightning bolt growing louder as it hurtled towards her. Her eyes widened, as her body froze in fear, surely knowing she was doomed.
She turned, just to see Johnathan hurl his knife. It was so fast that she could barely register it, but what came after was even faster.
The knife connected with the tip of the lightning bolt, and sent it ricocheting off away from the mermaid. The knife clattered to the ground, smoking slightly but otherwise fine. Aquarius then turned her gaze towards Herno, and her crown at her waist. She narrowed her eyes.
Herno snapped her fingers, as another battalion of storm spirits began forming before her. As long as she held on to the stone, she's going to keep creating storm spirits. She needed to take it back.
With a cry, Aquarius directed her watery cyclone to form a wave, carrying her down the steps of the amphitheater. Then with a few sweeping motions, she sent tendrils of water flying out towards Herno, and at the crown at her waist.
The storm spirits charged past Aquarius to continue wrecking havok on the remaining humans. She ignored them. If she didn't take the stone here and then, those storm spirits would still be unstoppable.
Herno evaded her watery tendrils, sending electricity coursing through the extensions of herself in retaliation. Aquarius gasped as the lightning hit her, forcing her to lose concentration and land on a messy heap before Herno.
Herno shot another lightning blast at her, but was blasted aside by one of Cedric' fire blasts. Cedric then quickly fashioned a lasso of red hot flame, swinging it towards Herno.
At the same time, a few energy blasts from Jason's spear forced Herno to divert her attention, allowing the lasso to wrap around her left ankle, pulling her roughly to the ground when she tried to leap and engage Jason.
She growled, parrying Johnathan's knife with her own as he leapt in for an attack, shooting a streak of lightning to force him back.
She slashed at her lasso with her knife, but the metal just passed through the flame without severing it. She tried to stand up, but Gordon and Jason attacked as one, not giving her any time to recover. An arrow from Gordon struck her shoulder while she was too busy defending herself from Jason's spear. She grunted in pain when the arrow connected, the hellfire charring the elaborate metal patterns on her armour as it spread across her body. Meanwhile, Aquarius shot some of the water she had controlled right at her face, like a high powered water hose. Herno tried to deflect it with the flat of her blade, but to no avail. The water beam left her drenched and blinded for that split second, a window which Cedric used to send a powerful blast of hellfire towards her.
Herno quickly threw up a hasty shield of lightning, in a desperate bid to protect herself from the second assult of hellfire, also severing Cedric's flame lasso in the process. Then before they could get close to attack again, a huge bolt of lightning crashed down from the heavens, hitting Herno right at the center of her newly damaged helmet.
White, sizzling tendrils of energy slithered all through Herno's being, before the remainders gathered back at her helmet, then splayed out in all directions from her horns, like a tree of lightning. Deadly volts of electricity all seeking out their targets within a second, barely giving the five any time to react.
Aqaurius quickly conjured up a wall, using the water she had taken from the storm spirits, which was currently splattered on the ground. Making sure that it was far enough so it wouldn't electrocute her and Gordon, who was the only other person she could protect in such haste.
