Beep. Beep. Beep.
That was the sound I woke up to, the damn constant beeping of the machine. I felt a dull throb at the back of my head and I felt so...I don't even know what to say. Cold? Hot? Okay? Better?
I tried to open my eyes but they were heavy and wanted to be kept shut. I felt a hand on my forearm
''I am so sorry Adria'' I heard his voice, Samuel
I groaned as I turned my head into the direction of Samuel and pried them open. He looked quite angered and troubled. A witch and a priest, ha, what a laugh.
''Why are you sorry?'' I croaked
''Water'' he asked the nurse and the nurse poured the water, he held the straw to my lips and I sighed in contentment as the cool liquid coated my throat.
''Answer me'' I asked again
''You have been out for two days Adria and you kept violently lashing out'' he said with a grim look on his face
''But I was out?''
''Your subconscious is on extreme high alert love'' he smiled ''and that is a good and bad thing''
I followed his eyes and saw the straps around my wrists and feet
''You have got to be kidding me'' I sighed and lay my head back
''Are you going to tell me now?'' he asked ''about that night and about today?''
No use in lying to him or avoiding it anymore. He knew almost everything about me. From being a witch to a possessed. From the scar on my ankle to the hair on my head.
''Fine'' I protested ''but please get me out of these chains'' I said as my voice started to waiver. The chains reminded me of a time when he would put me into compromising positions and allow me to get tortured, hurt, beaten until there was nothing left but the tears rolling down my cheeks.
The nurse undid them. I sat up and sighed as I wrapped my hand around the opposite hand's wrist, gently rubbing the ach away.
''If I tell you then you need to do one thing for me Sam'' I spat
He nodded and grabbed a pen and paper out of his bag
''I need a Hematite crystal, salt and a candle'' I asked, almost demanded
Samuel gave me a puzzled look
''Hematite protects you, salt cleans the energies in the room and the candle'' I sighed ''is just to remind me that there is light in the dark''
''I like that'' he smiled ''and I can get those''
I nodded
''So, we can begin this session by me asking a few questions and the ones you are uncomfortable answering, just don't answer'' Samuel smiled whilst he got his tape recorder out
''I am here with Adria in Broadmoor Hospital; it is Friday and approximately 12:30 am'' he looked at me and smiled ''it has been 3 months and 7 days since the possessed had been freed''
I smiled as goosebumps erupted over my skin. I could feel the steady breaths leave my lips
''Adria, please can you state your age'' Samuel asked as he placed the recorder down on the table
''I am 27 years old'' I replied numbly
''And how old were you when you were possessed?''
''I was 24''
''So, it is correct that you were possessed for 3 years?''
''Yes'' I whispered
''Were you aware of what the demon was doing?''
''Sometimes'' I looked at him ''he would make me watch or he would leave me in the cage, locked away''
Samuel held my hand and gave me an apologetic smile
''On the night you became possessed, was there anything out of the ordinary happening?''
''No''
''Are you sure of this?''
''Yes''
''Father...'' another male voice spoke and I looked at him, tears brimming my eyes ''our patient needs to rest again, the drugs are wearing off and we are keeping her mildly sedated until the test results come back''
Michael? I wondered, I looked into this man's eyes, his big blue eyes
''Why?'' I asked
''We found high amounts of serotonin being produced by your brain and this chemical, in high amounts cause aggression and violence'' he replied ''we are getting good results from keeping you under, keeping you in a relaxed state''
