Blessing's POV -

It's just gone past midnight when I had started to hear unnerving moaning coming from outside of my room. They sounded like they were quite distant like they could be coming from my dad's room?

I took the blanket off of me, sat up, and grabbed one of my teddies in me, and held it within my left hand. Once I had gotten enough courage, I got up slowly, and I walked towards the door, placing my ear on the brown wooden door, to see if I could hear the panting more clearly.

I felt my heart beating a little faster than usual, and the curiosity had gotten the better of me, so I slowly opened my door, which had creaked ever so slightly, as I open the door, where I had saw the door opposite me where it will open to be my dad's bedroom.

Slowly as I walked down the small corridor, running my fingers down the wall on my right, as I make my way to his door. I placed my small hand onto the door handle, and carefully, whilst being quiet about it, opened the door, to face with my dad sweating underneath the moonlight.

The curtain swayed slightly as he had his window open. Looking over towards him, he looks to be having a bad dream. Whenever I have bad dreams, mummy used to wake me up and comfort me until I was feeling much better again. So I tried to wake him up from his bad dream.

"Daddy!" I whispered.

Nothing.

"Daddy!" I whispered again.

He started to stir in his sleep, and I stood back, watching him come around, with a slight look of panic in his eyes when he had awoken.

Thomas POV -

*

tap, tap, tap...

tap, tap, tap...

I turned around and faced the men that were with me down within the dimly light tunnel, with sweat on our foreheads, dripping ever so often, due to the over-dying heat down in these tunnels that they make us do. I placed my index finger up to my lips, and they all do the same, whilst turning around so the others behind them knew that I had started to hear things again.

I had then pointed to my ear, to also to tell them that they were to listen as well, to see if they also hah heard what I was hearing.

Tap, tap, tap...

Tap, tap, tap...

"shit" I muttered under breathe.

BOOM!

We all had flown back, hitting our backs, and our heads onto the muddy walls near us as one of their grenades had blown down the wall which was on our right. Then the Germans had quickly to scramble into our tunnel.

"Schnell! Töte diese Bastarde!" (Fast! Kill these bastards!) I heard one of them say before our men even had a chance to take out their pistols. As we trying to scramble back to escape this horror, they had started shooting where ever they felt fit. Then one of them grabbing onto my leg and pulling me towards them. I was quick to pull out my pistol and shot one of them in the shoulder and shouted out for help. *

I woke up panting like I would every other night, from the same dream that I would always have ever since I had gotten back home from the war, in France, fighting against the Germans.

I saw that my daughter was only a few feet in front of me, looking concerned of me with her tiny teddy bear in her left hand, so I placed my right hand onto her right shoulder gently, looking straight into her soft; innocent eyes. She tried to smile softly at me, but couldn't fully place one on. So I brought her close to me, and I wrapped my arms around her.
