Blessing's POV -

"Then these two twins had come up to me at lunch and told me that their dad was in the same gang that dad is in. They said it was called the Peaky Blinders" I told John and seeing him tense up momentarily, moving the toothpick side-to-side in his mouth more often, and looking down at me in the corner of his eye.

"Did those girls mention anything else about it Blessing" He had said, as we came to a standstill in the middle of the street, as his now standing in front of me, crouching down, looking at me, eye-to-eye.

"No John, that's why I'm asking because I'm now curious. and when I get curious, I won't stop asking or snooping around till I get an answer that I'm looking for in the first place"  Was all I had told him, whilst spurring my shoulders like its nothing.

"Exactly like your father." he muttered underneath his breath "Let's get you in, and get your father. He'll have to tell you this in person, eh" he sighed. John stood back up, letting me hold his hand again, as we finish the rest of the trip back up to the house, which didn't take us very long.

- A couple of moments later -

We entered Aunt Pol's house, we were greeted by both of my aunts. Then there was Arthur and dad, who were also in the room as well, talking about how the horse that dad owns, he had apparently placed some sort of fortune onto it, so that it would help win him come out first. so in other words, he has done this so-called fortune, to cheat the race, and Arthur doesn't seem to best pleased with how dad had done it without taking it into much consideration over this so-called man, Billy Kimber, I think that what Arthur had said his name was.

I do wonder who this Billy Kimber guy is. My guess is someone who they shouldn't really be messing with, as it may, or may not, get them into trouble. my bet is going to be on the first one. It sounds like dad could end up into some sort of trouble, because of what he has done. I might be young, but I do, however, know that you shouldn't be messing with the races at all.

"She has a lot of questions for you Tommy. She's already found out what you're hiding from her, and if you don't tell her, I'm sure that her new friends will" John had told dad without hesitation, and with a much blank expression written all over his face like he knew what was going on.

Dad had looked over me, with yet, another cigarette in his mouth. "What is it that you want to ask me?" he said, with a tone like he knew what I was about to ask him.

"Who are the Peaky Blinders dad? These two girls at the school had said that all of you were or still are heavily involved in it, and so is their father as well apparently" I said, as I walked round to him, placing my bag at the side of the room, out of the way of everything.

Once placing my bag down at the side of the room, I stood in front of him, with my arms crossed, and with an eyebrow raised, like I was looking for an answer, which I was, but if he gives me the one I'm looking for, I won't bring this back up, and vice versa if I don't hear the one I want to hear.

Just on cue, everyone in the room had started to become slightly uncomfortable with the name, and they all had looked over towards dad, in wonder what he would do next, and how he would approach the situation most likely. My bets are now on that they are in this peaky blinders gang. How and why they're in it, and who exactly is the gang leader, I do not know, and I hope he does tell me enough so I won't be asking again anytime soon.

I rolled my eyes and started to head upstairs before I heard a cough behind me. "Firstly, don't walk off when I haven't given you an answer yet. Secondly, how much have they told you about it?" He scoffed slightly

"Look, all I'm saying is by the way everyone is acting in this room, you are involved one way or another. What they have told me, doesn't matter, as I'm sure I will likely gain more information out of them if you don't tell me what exactly they do. You're clearly hiding something from me, and it also looks like you're hiding something from Finn too, by how quickly Pol had taken him out of the room." I disclosed to him, not wanting to have much more onto it.

"Yes, we're in the gang, as we are the leaders if you want to say that, of it, and most, if not all of small Heath is indeed scared off us Shelbys because of the things that we do, and what we might do if something doesn't go our way. And that betting shop" He pointed towards the empty betting shop, whilst making his point "Is also illegal business that happens inside of there. Whatever goes on inside there, stays inside there and it doesn't come back out again" He told me.

Once I knew that he was finished, I walked upstairs in some sort of a hurry, and went straight into my room. Once inside I had made sure that I was out of this horrific school uniform. Once I was out of the clothes, I hung them neatly back up into the wardrobe and got out new ones. After getting out the new set of clothes that both Ada and Pol had given to me, and then getting into them, I made my way back down into the dining room, and Pol had given me tea, which I had taken, and eaten quite quickly.

After eating, I opened the front door small enough for me to get through, and stepped outside, to be greeted by the now cold fresh air. I heard Pol shout at me to be back here by when the sun has gone down completely, then hearing dad and Pol starting  bickering as soon as I had closed the door, and all I did was roll my eyes.

Who knows what his problem might be this time around. I am thankful for the matter that Pol had allowed me out of the house for a few hours.

I looked at the now-familiar surroundings around me. The tall, daunting, bleak walls, and the long narrow alleyways, greet everyone, quite literally everywhere you look, in any direction.

I glanced over towards one of the many alleyways nearby the house, and I made my way down into it, walking as far as I can until I can't walk anymore. Zig-zagging down the narrow alleyways, into more different and narrow ones, leading me to a small, untouched garden like area.

I pulled out a small notebook, and I started to write all of the things that I already knew and what I will probably be wanting to know more about. Especially if dad is going to be keeping things from me, I need to keep track on everything.

As I've finished written everything down, I had then placed the notebook back into the same pocket that I had taken it out from originally. Looking up, back down into one of the alleyways where I had come from earlier on, I saw some sort of a shadow, which had outlined a shape of a petite women, who had appearing from the darkness of the narrow walls surrounding, and in gulfing her entire body. She had soon fled the scene when she had soon to realise that I was looking in her general direction.

Quickly, I had gotten up and made my way towards where this mystery lady once stood peering over. I was greeted to see that she was with another individual. A guy, in fact, who was standing close to her. Unfortunately to my luck, I couldn't hear their slight mumbles, so I wouldn't be able to make out what they would be saying. I sat down, at the bottom of the alleyway, looking in their general direction, trying to see if I could make any sense in what they were saying to each other.

All I could make up from what they were saying to each other was a piece of good luck at the end, and then they quickly hurried and went their own separate ways. The man, however, had looked back into the alleyway where I was crouching down before he had walked off in his own general direction.

Who are they, and why was that lady spying on me, and how long was she there before I had noticed her?
