Sixteen

'I still can't believe I studied exact 5 more hours than you and got a worse score on our exam.' Haewon huffed which earned a laugh from Felix.

'Can't help, I'm smart.' The boy shrugged.

When the girl responded with a mumble, Felix continued.
'So where do you wanna go?'

It was a sunny Friday afternoon. They were in front of the guy's house. On their first date.
Was Haewon nervous? Without doubt. But she tried to act natural.
You're friends. Just think of it like a hangout and let the rest happen by itself Eungjung told her earlier. It was their first date so Haewon's whole squad came over. The girls helped her with the outfit (black skirt with a thin blue pullover which accidentally matched with Felix's all-black fit and blue sneakers) while Benny was mainly joking around with Jaewon who seemed queiter than the usual.

'Let's go and buy some ice cream!' Haewon suggested.

'The weather's not really hot tho.'

'Come on! It's my treat!' Haewon smiled.

Felix started shaking his head rapidly. 'No, I can't let you-'

The girl cut in and put her hand on the other's arm. 'I made a promise. Please.'

The guy let out a sigh and put on an approving smile. 'I'm kinda embarrassed tho.'

'Don't be. So how are you?' When Felix grimaced, Haewon puckered up her lips. 'Right, that was pretty lame. Sorry.'

'You know, I'm actually a bit tired now.'

'I know, you fell asleep in history class.' The girl chuckled.

'What? How do you know this?'

Memories started flooding Haewon's mind.

The girl was sitting peacfully in her extremely boring history class, when she felt something sharp (a pen, probably) poking her back. She waited for the teacher to look away then quickly turned back.
'What the hell do you want Hwang-'
'Look!' The guy pointed to the other deskunit with his famous, adorable eyesmile.
Haewon followed Hyunjin's finger with her eyes just to see Felix sleeping on the desk using his arms as a pillow.
He looked soft and cute as heck in the girl's eyes. Aww. That was literally all of her thoughts in one word.
'Take a photo.'
'Why?' The girl frowned.
'You can post it on his birthday.' Hyunjin suggested. The girl nodded in agreement and carefully pulled out her phone.
'Or you can just stare at it from time to time.' He added with a smirk.
'Why would I do that?' The girl put down her phone and glared at the boy who just shrugged his shoulders and leaned back in his chair.
Not a bad idea tho.

The girl shook her head to get back to reality. 'Hyunjin pointed it out.

'Why am I not surprised?' Felix rolled his eyes then continued. 'I couldn't sleep all night.'

'Why?'

'Because of Minho's fucking cat. She was snoring.'

The girl bursted out laughing. 'Oh my gosh!'

'Yeah, it kinda sucked. And the top of that, Jisung's question from earlier that day came up in my head. Like do dogs have different accents for their bark when they're from different countries?'

'And this kept you awake?'

Felix nodded.

Haewon facepalmed. 'You two are so dumb.'
