After The Road Trip

I arrived home soon enough. I unbuckled my belt and climbed from the car. Heading towards the house. I can hear shouting and arguing already. I'm not looking forward to this. I unlocked the front door in time to see something fly across the hall and hit the stairs where Roni was.

"Throw another thing! I dare you" Roni shouted as she walked down the last few stairs and looked at whoever was in the kitchen.

"You dare me?" Amber shouted as she came out of the kitchen holding a rolling pin.

"Don't even think about it" I snapped as I dropped my bag at the door and ran between the girls. Amber looked at me with so much anger that it burned through my soul. She definitely has my eyes. "Put the pin down now" I sternly warn as I gave her my firm mum look. Amber tossed it on the floor and stormed back into the kitchen. "Roni get in the lounge. This is hard enough. Don't make it worse"

My eldest stormed up the in the lounge in a sulk. I went into the kitchen to see Billie and Liam both fighting with Ethan trying to hold them apart. He looked as if he was trying to calm them down but wasn't sure what to do. He looked up at me and sighed in relief.

"Regina grab Liam" Ethan asked quickly as his strong arms began giving away.

I rushed over and lifted my son from all of it. I put him over my shoulder where he was kicking to be down. Ethan grabbed Billie off the floor and done the same as me.

"Right family meeting in the lounge now" I ordered in a stern voice again to make sure my children's listen to me.

Amber huffed and stormed out the room. I put Liam on the floor and he sulked his way out. Billie was still screaming and kicking so Ethan just carried her out. I sighed at the mess they have made and the stress we all feel. I followed out into the lounge where all my children were sat on the sofa. Ethan was stood behind them as if he was watching. I looked at him nervously because I'm not sure where to start.

"Kids your mum is going to explain more about what happened. You going to stay calm and not shout. Understand" Ethan asked with a little authority but mostly nervous.

"Yeah" they all echoed in annoyed voices as they glanced round at him.

"Go on Regina"

"Alright. So I know your dad told you guys about the divorce and the reason why. It was never planned but we both still love you all more than anything" I said as I sat on the arm chair ornament and looked softly at my children. They all just looked at me as if they wanted to speak. "You can ask any questioned you want"

All four began talking at the same time. Shouting over the top of each other to be heard. I sighed and rubbed my head to receive some stress.

"One at a time" Ethan said over the top of  them because he could see I was stressed.

"Liam go on sweetie" I encouraged as I gestured to the youngest while leaning closer to him.

"Do you love that other lady" he asked softly but nervously like he's not meant to.

"Yes. Very much so" I replied with a slight smile as I look between the four of them.

"My turn" Amber quickly said as she lifted her hand up and sat forward to be seen. "Why did you do it? Why did you decide to sleep with a woman"

"I didn't mean for anything to happen. She kissed me when we were drunk and then a few days later I kissed her. I don't understand why I done it but I know I had feelings for her at the time" I replied awkwardly knowing I cant lie to any of them now.

"Are you gay now" Roni asked as she squeezed past Amber's shoulder to be in front.

"I don't know. Maybe" I replied with a shrug before looking up at Ethan awkwardly.

"I have one. Is Emma going to live with us" Billie asked quickly before any of the others could speak.

"One day maybe. She is coming to dinner tomorrow and I want all of you to be on your best behaviour" I warned with a stern look knowing what they are like together.

"You invited her for dinner? I'm staying in my room then" Amber huffed as she stood up and walked towards the door.

"Amber don't be like this" Ethan quickly said as he went around the sofa to follow her.

"You can't be ok with this dad. I'm definitely not. You destroyed our family mum! I'm gonna live with dad. I can't be with you" Amber snapped in the doorway before storming out.

"I'll go talk to her" Ethan sighed as he ran off to chase her.

"Ow god... If you guys aren't ok with this then tell me" I softly said as I looked between the three left.

"I'm not happy but I'm ok" Billie replied with a shrug as if she was unsure what to do.

"I don't mind. As long as we still see you and daddy" Liam said with a sad face that showed he was scared to loose us.

"Of course you will. You can go now if you want" I said with a smile at my two youngest who were eager to play. They hopped up and ran out the room. Heading straight upstairs. I looked at Roni who also stood up to leave. "Are you alright with this"

"I don't like it at all but if your happy then I am" Roni replied with a slight smile as she gave me a slight shrug.

"Why don't you like it"

"Because I never imagined you and dad divorcing"

I pulled my daughter into my arms and hugged her tight. I feel like the worst mum in the world right now. Amber doesn't even want to live with me. Roni held me tight as we just took in the moment.

"I'm so sorry" I apologized as I slowly started to pull away and look at the young girl.

"It's ok. I'm gonna go out and get some fresh air. Walk all this off. I'll take Amber with me" Roni replied as she stood back and walked towards the door.

I watched my daughter leave. I then sat back down and sighed in exhaustion. I took my phone out to see Emma messaged me. I opened it after checking my shoulder for someone.

Emma: hey. How did it all go? Xx

Me: not good. Not good at all xx
