PART 1 ◇

y/n's pov
"mr lee hates me or something. he kept picking me to answer his questions when i didnt raise my hand. stupid ass-" "you kept drawing in my book... loudly." minji said, cutting haru off. "what do you mean loud?" haru replied, confusion flowing through her question.

"you pressed on my page so hard!! obviously when you start drawing it'll make nosies!" minji explained. "he had to pick me though?? not somebody like Lena, a genius?" haru argued. "it's supposed to tell you to stop drawing and pay attention, you ding dong." minji argued back.

"hey, y/n! how did your class go?" minji said, not giving haru the opportunity to continue the pointless argument. "uh- it went well. we just studied dispositions, you know, being open minded, stuff like that." i responded, tearing my gaze away from the seven boys chattering happily on the field.

"what were you staring at during the conversation of mr lee holding a grudge against me? that went on for a while." haru giggled to herself. "oh i was watching the boys- i mean the soccer game! it's, uh, pretty intense, you know?" "totally." minji laughed at my now light pink face.

~🥰time skip to after school🥰~

"how was school today, sweetie?" my mum asked as i sat down at the kitchen table. "it was okay." "thats good. i have to go pick your brother up, he finishes school soon. i love you, okay? if you have work you need to complete, start working on it after you finish eating. if you want to take a nap, you can take a nap in my bed. i love you." she finished by planting a kiss on my head.

"bye mum, i love you too." i smiled and waved as she shut the door. i put my plate in the sink before heading to my room to finish off my work.

~🌞the next day☀️~

"hey y/n! we're over here!" haru called out with minji waving her hand in the air as i entered school grounds. i started walking towards them, realising that it wasn't just minji and haru, jisung and his friends were there.

everyone likes jisung in our year level. he's nice, funny, intelligent, helpful, thoughtful, everything everyone wants in a person. he's also very very... cute.

the first time i ever spoke to jisung was in year 4, when all the students had to bring a dollar for an ice cream. some kids stole my money for themselves and i was, well, too afraid to stand up to them.

jisung saw what they did and paid for my ice cream - ever since then, we became friends.

"hey, y/n!" jeno said, snapping me out of my thoughts. "hello." i responded with a smile on my face. i looked over to where jisung, noticing that mark and chenle who were nudging the shy blushing boy with their elbows.

"s-stop it!" jisung said desperately through his giggles as chenle began tickling him.

"y/n, are you okay? you've been silent for a while." jaemin said while looking at jisung with a cheeky smile. "uh y-yeah, i'm fine." i shot a faint smile before joing minji and haru's conversation about puppies.

~during lunch~

jisung's pov
"mark, how do i do it..." i mumbled quietly. "do what?" mark asked with a mouth full of his cheese sandwich.

i have these really funny feelings when y/n's around me. every time i see her face, it doesn't matter if she's alone or with her friends, if she's doing something or zoning out, she gives me butterflies every time i glance at her.

i'm planning on telling her after school today but i don't know how to. even worse, if she doesn't like me back.

"he's planning on confessing today, after school, to y/n. he doesn't know how to do it though." haechan laughs loudly at my dumbfounded self. "is it that obvious?" i asked with concern. "any boy would notice." jaemin teased. "i'll think about it during class." i said and continued eating.

"you should be thing about your lesson, park jisung. not what you can think about during your free time4. please focus when your teacher is teaching, jisung." ms kim said, overhearing our conversation and walking off before i could apologise. "god i fucking hate her." renjun muttered as he opened his luncbox. "everyone does, injun." jeno said as he continued to drink his orange juice.

and then a light bulb lit up.

"i got an idea!"

"what is it, jisung!" the others boys called out at the same time. "i'll take her to her favourite spot after school." i said excitedly. "and how do you know where her favourite spot is in this hell hole?" jaemin asked. "i'll ask her friends. right now." i laughed and stood up and began walking to the table minji, haru and y/n were sitting at.

"h-hi?" i half asked half said while knocking on the table gently. "hey, jisung." minji smiled as haru quietly laughed. "h-hi, j-jisung." y/n whispered softly. gosh, she's so shy. "um, can i talk to you for a minute, minji? alone?" i asked, tearing my gaze away from y/n. "me?? sure." she said, standing up and walking towards the benches that were a good distance to have a private chat.

y/n's pov
"um, can i talk to you for a minute, minji? alone?" jisung asked while smiling at minji. "me?? sure." she replied while standing up and walking to the bench further down the room.

why is he talking to minji?
what are they talking about?
does jisung like minji?
does minji like jisung?

i felt upset, confused and excluded all at the same time, but the question that was pinned right in the centre of my mind was

why do i feel this way?

jisung's pov
"what's up jisung?" "i want to confess to y/n after school today. i was wondering if you knew where her favourite place was? in school?" i asked while cracking my knuckles. "thats so cute oh my god, but yeah of course. y/n's favourite spot is the trees with the white flowers, by the soccer field." she said with a content smile. "thanks minji, and please please please, don't tell y/n." "i won't jisung." she laughed off and we began walking back to their table.
