CHAPTER- 11

As jaebeom went home he thought of been greeted by a smiling Sana but instead she just had her poker face on and she didn’t wanted to talk. “Hey” he greeted
Sana looked up at him with her eyes filled with tears and said “yeah, hi” and drove her eyes towards the television screen watching some romantic drama where the actor and actress died. She was crying. It was kind of strange because she never cries only for the drama. He shrugged it off and went to his room to change.
When he came back he saw Sana was no more crying but was having a strange kind of a behaviour. He sat down next to her but there was still a sudden gap.
“So, do you know there will be a prom this weekend” Sana said breaking the silence
“Yes…I heard it” jaebeom replied
“Who are you going there with?” Sana asked looking at Jaebeom and as Jaebeom was about to answer. His phone rang and Sana saw the name written in it ‘Hyeri’.
“So they exchanged numbers already?” she thought to herself
“Hello” he was greeted by a cheerful tone by Hyeri and he smiled widely after hearing her voice and Sana just looked at him amused.
“Hi” jaebeom replied
“Actually I wanted to ask you something?” Hyeri asked shyly
“Yes, sure” jaebeom said
“Would you like to go prom with me?” she asked
“Um…okay since I don’t have anyone going with me so….yes” he answered smiling
“Okay then talk to you later thanks a lot”
“Okay, mention not” they ended the call
Jaebeom turned at Sana who was looking at him like she was going kill him any moment. “About your previous question, I am going there with Hyeri” he said
“So what will I do, go and have fun” she said
“Why you not coming?” Jaebeom asked
“Yeah I am going with Jinyoung there” she said sighing
“So, why are you looking sad” jaebeom asked looking at her clueless
“Because I am not going there with the person I like.” She told him
“So you can ask him out. He sure would go with you” jaebeom said and saw that Sana cracked a smile and said
“Look, he already got an offer to go with someone else” Sana said looking at Jaebeom
“What’s his name?” Jaebeom suddenly asked which he himself didn’t know why?
“You know him pretty well, if you know yourself” she said and went to her room
“Go and sleep, stop thinking it’s beyond you thinking capacity” she said and closed the door of her room.
Jaebeom stood up and moved towards his room too.
Sana was thinking now that she might have to stay alone her entire life. She can’t blame jaebeom if ever he falls in love with Hyeri, why not she is cute and pretty and on the other hand Sana was rude and beautiful with a really chic personality. She really can’t tolerate the thing called cute. It irritated her a lot.
THE NEXT DAY......
She was sitting in her room, while closing her eyes. Suddenly her phone rang and she opened her eyes. She checked her phone where she has marked the date for Jaebeom’s birthday, it showed that today is his birthday. She jumped up for the state she was in and thought what can she give him? She thought though he is being with other girl now, but at least he is happy. That’s what matters to her. She changed her outfit to a casual one. But still stand out in the crowd. She looked herself in the mirror and thought “why am I this beautiful when it is of no use?” she sighed and went out.
As she opened the door Jaebeom also opened the door, they came face to face and jaebeom looked at Sana from head to toe. She wore jeans shorts and white shirt which was V-necked and she let her hair open. He was mesmerized by her good looks she definitely was pretty he was convinced to admit.
“What happened?” Sana asked
“Nothing.” He simply said and asked “um…where are you going?”
“Oh. I am just going to trail out for a bit.” Sana said
“Oh….do you wanna tell me something?” he asked hoping if Sana remembered his birthday
“no.” she simply said and went to open the door but turned around and said “I might be late so don’t worry” she said and went off.
Jaebeom sadly watched her leave and close the door on his face. He went to his room sitting when Hyeri called him
“Hello!” said jaebeom
“Happy birthday Jaebeommie” she yelled at the phone
Jaebeom was a bit shocked at Hyeri calling him with that name because that name is only called by Sana to him. He was a bit disappointed because he wanted Sana to be the first one to tell him happy birthday instead of her. But he accepted her.
“Thanks” he said
“Wanna go out and hang out today” she said
Jaebeom having nothing to do agreed in it.
Sana on the other hand moved from shop to shop just to find the perfect gift for him. Then she realised that she could get him a pair of contact lenses. That’s what she did. She bought it and then she watched out to a branded store to find the perfect outfit for him for tomorrow’s prom night. She was going through the suits when a staff came to her and asked “buying for your boyfriend?” she asked and Sana just nodded.
“Okay let me bring you the finest ones in the shop” she showed her different cloths and among them she liked the one with a white shirt, royal blue blazer and black pants. She packed that for him too.
“Your boyfriend must be lucky to get such a beautiful girlfriend like you” the cashier said and she just smiled and paid for the clothes and left.
While going she thought of one thing, if it would be true she would be really happy. She could then have a cute boyfriend which she never thought of because she went for boyfriends who are more of a bold type but she finds Jaebeom to be just her type now because he cares for her so much which matters for her. She passed a cake shop and thought of buying one for Jaebeom too. She got in and bought a chocolate cake.
She headed home smiling hoping to give Jaebeom surprize, and to tell him that she hasn’t forgotten his birthday.
When she reached the apartment door she saw the door was locked “where did he go?” she questioned herself
She went inside and waited for him to come back. She came home at 7:30 p.m. but now it was 11:00 p.m. She got tensed and tried calling him but he didn’t pick up the phone. Jaebeom wasn’t a type of guy to stay outside at this time of the day and not even picking up the phone. She got tensed and ran the staircase down. She looked at her right and then at her left but couldn’t get a glimpse of jaebeom. She continued calling. She tensed up more. She started to bite her nails. She pulled her hair back because of the tension which was increasing like anything. She thought if she would have taken him with her then nothing like this would have happened. She was on the verge of tears when she heard laughter’s. She turned her head towards her left and saw Jaebeom coming with that girl smiling and she was clinging to his arm.
She was so mad at him she looked at them. When Jaebeom turned his face straight he noticed her.
“Sana?” he asked confuse “you came home?”
“Where were you?” she asked dead serious
“I was with her as you can see” he said looking at Hyeri who was standing there looking shocked
“You both live together?” Hyeri asked
“Yes, but don’t tell anyone about it. Okay?” Jaebeom said very nicely to her and she nodded with a smile
Sana just went stomping from there as if fire burning inside her and she can’t stop that and let it burn her.
Jaebeom saw her getting angry and said “okay bye Hyeri. See you tomorrow, and I really wanted to take you home but I can’t” he was going up but then turned around and said “I can give you this at least” he hugged her “thanks for today” he said and moved to the apartment.
When Jaebeom reached the floor and got inside he saw Sana sitting on the sofa while hugging her knees kept her head low. Jaebeom sat beside her and tapped her shoulder
She looked up and said “what do you want?”
“Sorry if I made you worry” he apologized
“Worry? I was fucking tensed because of you idiot” she held his collar “you are the worst creature on earth why the hell didn’t you pick up my calls?” she yelled at him
“I didn’t pick up your calls?” he questioned and reached out for his bag and saw his phone 30 missed calls from Sana
“o-oh I am sorry” he said looking at Sana “I actually put the phone in silent mode as we were in the dancing machine” he said looking down and smiled
“So you both were together?” she asked with melancholy in her voice
“Yes a lot” he said and looked at Sana who looked really sad and looking at her Jaebum’s expression changed
“Hey SA—“he got cut off when Sana stood up from the sofa and headed towards her room and slammed the door shut.
“What’s up with her?” Jaebeom whispered to himself
He got up from the sofa and was about to open his door but didn’t because he wanted to drink some water and went to refrigerator to drink some water. When he took out the water he drank it he saw a cake box kept on the table. He was shocked when he opened it he saw it was a chocolate cake which was his favourite and his name was written on it. He understood she was all the out from morning because she knew that it was his birthday he kept on babbling out his day with Hyeri.
Jaebeom quickly went to the door and knocked it. No answer.
“Sana, please open the door.” He knocked again
“I’m sorry, I know I should have picked up your phone” he again banged the door
He closed his eyes and hung his head low and just stood there.
Sana opened the door. Jaebeom looked up and saw she just showered and was drying her hair with a towel. She looked really appealing and he can’t deny that. She looked at him and asked him “why are you so impatient?” she asked
“I am s—“she cut him off
“Yah! Shut up. Just come and sit here be absolutely quite” she said and took his hand and made him sit on her bed
She went to the dining table and bought the cake and gave it to jaebeom. Jaebeom looked at it and smiled widely.
“You remembered, right?” Jaebeom asked sane
“Yes. Indeed. But you already got your best birthday gift from Hyeri” she said looking away
Jaebeom kept quiet and didn’t say a word on her.
“But its okay, blow the candles, come on make a wish” She said with a smile and Jaebeom kept looking at her until she widened her eyes and gestured him to blow the candles.
Jaebeom blew the candles. Made a wish. Then he cut the cake and gave it to Sana and Sana made him eat the cake too. Later he ate the cake and enjoyed it to his fullest. Seeing him like that she couldn’t help her heart but to just melt at how cute he looked. Then she remembered that he can look sexy too. But she didn’t had the courage to give him that. She thought of giving him that later.
They talked about what happened today, especially it was jaebeom who spoke it but they enjoyed it.
