I watched the brown curls bounce around his head as he paced the living room.

"You should cut your hair. It's hazardous to mankind." I laughed at his worrisome face.

"How could you be so stupid, Lynn" He yelled, completely ignoring my statement.

"I'm not stupid! And what I do is none of your business. You wouldn't understand, anyways." He stopped pacing and stood there staring at me.

"Understand? I wouldn't understand? Understand what? Seriously, Lynn, what is there to understand? I mean, you can't be falling for him. He bought you for crying out loud!"

"He did not buy me! It's more like my father sold me. Why do you keep blaming Ryan? My dad's the one to blame here!" He put a hand to his forehead and began to pace again.

"This is just all stupid. The guy sings and dances on a table while I bust my nut and buy a house in your liking with everything for you but you end up falling for him. What sense does that make? Explain, Lynn." His words surprised me. I stood up and faced him.

"Oh, so you want me to explain? Right now, I'm not the one who should be explaining. First off, I told you that you wouldn't understand. He didn't just stand on a table and sing for me. He got up in front of everyone who has judged him throughout his whole life and faced them so that I could face my fears. That's something nobody has ever gone out of their way to do for me. Second off, why are you comparing what you do to what he does? It isn't with the same feeling. You're my best friend. He's my fiancé and who knows what his feelings are. Last, if you can't handle my life then leave. I don't ask you to put up with any of it. You choose to. My life is my life and it all happens for a reason. If you can't get that through your thick head then there's a problem and you're just going to need to get out of my life. It's not what I want but I don't want you to forget your life because you can't cope with mine. It's too much for me to ruin your life because mine is falling apart. Find someone who loves you, Adam. You deserve it." I pause and look out the window. "You should go." I say as I look at him. He doesn't move a muscle and it hurts me to see him this way but it's for the best. I leave him paralyzed and head to my room.

I sat looking out my window. The skies were immensely blue and the air fresh. Black wings flew above black wings across the shore. I sat this way for the rest of the day. Ryan would check in on me every other second but I didn't pay him attention. He should mind his own as well. I might be his fiancé but it isn't real. I just want to get this all over with.

An hour later the skies were transitioning into a light pink. I heard the door creak behind me and in came Ryan with a basket.

"Get up, lazy bum." He spoke in an impatient tone.

"I'm not lazy." I looked back at him.

"Of course not. Only bright, happy, and energetic people sit in one place the whole day while their food is delivered to them whenever they please. Sorry for the confusion." He gave a pleasant smile which made me feel warm.

"It's not my fault your staff does whatever I want." I said sarcastically. He gave me a half smile and looked down. I patted the bed next to me and he came and sat. "So what is it you have planned, red riding hood?" I asked motioning to his basket.

"Something that requires brushed teeth and mouth wash." He waves his hand in front of his nose and I punched the side of his arm. He laughed. "A picnic out on the beach to watch the sunset. Go get ready. There's only 40 minutes left and it takes 20 to get down to the beach." I nodded in agreement and walked into my closet. I started undressing when I remember that I forgot to close the door. I turn with my shirt off to see Ryan staring.
