Izuku Midoriya's P.O.V.

"BEEP, BEEP, BEEP"

My alarm clock went off, meaning it was officially six in the morning on my first day back at school after the break. I sat up slowly, stretching as I did so. I removed my blanket, revealing my lower half covered by my black and red boxers somewhat covered by my over-sized All-Might shirt.  Slowly I turned to the left of me, placing my long legs on the ground and stepping out of bed. I stretched once more for good measure and moved to my dresser where I had picked up my U.A. uniform. I changed into it, and stared myself down in the mirror for a good minute.

From a young age I had always admired potential heroes who I would see in this uniform. It was truly exciting how I was now one of the people who could wear these and proudly state that I was a student in U.A. high-school.

I smiled at my small thought, before putting on my white socks with red boots, and heard a knock on my door followed by a text. I smiled knowing who it was, as every morning they waited at my door and sent that text of confirmation at exactly 6:30 A.M.

I hopped up, and walked over towards the door opening it slightly to assure it was him before opening it fully. "Morning Todoroki-Kun!" I exclaimed grinning widely, and a small smile crept onto his face at the sight of this. He put his hand on my dark green hair, and patted my head causing me to slightly laugh. He seemed to be in a better mood than usual.

"Midoriya, let's go." He said checking his phone and showing me the time telling me he didn't want to be even slightly late, as he didn't want one of Iida's infamous lectures. I nodded in response and we began walking. I spoke to him about All-Might because, when am I not speaking about him quite honestly?

He seemed to be interested in what I was saying which was unusual for people when I ranted on and on about All-Might. He even smiled when I got overly excited over something. Eventually we arrived at the over-sized doors of our classroom, and before entering Todoroki motioned that I should go in first. I smiled in response and walked in with him following shortly behind me as we made it to our seats. Soon enough our overly sleep deprived teacher came into the classroom, walking to the front of the classroom and stopping.

"Good morning class, welcome back. Even on such a calm day back we have no time to waste, so make your way over to the gym in your costumes, and I will explain the rules of today's training."

While everyone seemed not to care, and others were tired, I was generally excited to get back to school stuff, I had been genuinely missing school and hero training. Training on my own outside wasn't nearly as exciting.

So soon enough, I was changed into my iconic costume, looking like a bunny, standing there awaiting instructions from our sluggish black-haired teacher often times known as the underground hero "EraserHead." Eventually he arrived, and looked around to see if everyone was here. Upon noticing we were all in fact there, he began.

"Today, you will be training your quirks. You can work together with someone as you like, but make sure you make some sort of progress, need it be a new power-move, or anything else. Put today to use, and don't go easy on yourself just because it's the first day back after the break." He spoke to us all. Immediately upon mentioning partner work, almost everybody looked at someone, besides Bakugo and a few others. Todoroki looked at me to which I looked back.

After Aizawa-sensei sent us off Bakugo went to his rock level, while Todoroki joined me on ours. We had decided he would shoot ice at me and I would try and either block it or destroy it, with my new blast attack that meant I wouldn't have to be close to him anymore. As he sent ice my way I flicked my fingers at it completely destroying it before it reached me.

A few minutes of this and I was absolutely exhausted, but I kept going as to assure that I could be even greater than I was yesterday. Suddenly I heard a loud blast followed by a "Look out!" from a familiar voice. I watched in front of me as Todoroki's eyes widened and following where his eyes were I looked up to see a giant rock about to land on me. I looked back to Todoroki, but instead of being met with him looking scared he was gone. I was frozen in place and looked back up to see the rock coming closer and closer.

It was massive, and in an instant I felt my heart stop. I clenched my eyes shut out of fear, wondering why it was so insanely difficult to move ever so slightly.

I braced myself for impact, but when I didn't feel anything a sense of confusion ran over me. It was as if time had stopped when I looked back up to see the rock frozen by Todoroki, only to be blasted into pieces by Bakugo. The rock broke into small pieces flying absolutely everywhere. Todoroki immediately run up to me tightly embracing me upon his landing and Bakugo had come to our rock level, and was staring at me. His expression was hard to read but he looked distressed.

I felt Todoroki tense up, and he let me go slowly. He had his head down, and I watched as he clenched his fist tightly, slowly shaking. He turned around, and immediately placed his sight on Bakugo.

"You could have hurt him!" he yelled loudly, gaining the attention of everyone. Bakugo looked slightly taken aback, but clicked his mouth. "It wasn't my fault, I was just training as usual and the dumb rock decided to fall! It couldn't have been helped, you half-and-half bastard!" Bakugo retorted. I shook in fear, I was almost just crushed by a falling rock, Kacchan actually tried to save me, and Todoroki was actually expressing feelings of great anger. This was all so new to me, and I wasn't even finished taking in the fact that I almost died just now.

Finally, realization struck and before Todoroki went all out on Bakugo I did the only thing I could, placing my hand on his shoulder. I felt weak, and sick to my stomach because of everything and he seemed to notice I wasn't feeling good. He shot Bakugo one more dirty look, and grabbed my hand walking me out of there.

Todoroki was the brother I never had, and often times called me "little brother," telling me he had felt the same way except he actually had siblings. He walked me to my dorm, and once we entered he stared me straight on.

"Are you injured?" he asked, with a hard to read expression.

"No, don't worry about it, big brother." I smiled up to him. He let out a big sigh of relief and placed his hand back on my head. I smiled again, and this time he smiled back.
