Levi couldn't sleep that night.
Not when Eren was mad at him. But couldn't he see Levi was only trying to help? Apparently not. Eren also did say that he had tried pills before and they hadn't worked. But Levi felt that they just had to work; how could they not? Depression was almost like a type of sickness, and medication could always cure sicknesses, couldn't it?
Levi felt he was doing the right thing. The problem was, he sent his message in the wrong way. Force was what he used, which he knew Eren hated and had already went through in the past.Force.
Levi felt he couldn't do anything without being harsh; it was just in his nature. He couldn't even lay Eren's head on his lap gently. How in the world was he going to help him?
_____________________That night, Eren growled as quietly as he could into his pillow, muffling his voice.
He wished he had the bottle of pills to flush down the toilet. Or, better yet, overdose. But Levi had taken them to his bed.
By now, Eren could've been dead, and nobody would care. Nobody would notice. That's how it was supposed to work."See, Heiichou?" Eren mumbled angrily. "I'm only getting more depressed with those stupid pills you fed me." Truth was, now that the pills were in his stomach, and with the big fuss he made with the Captain the day before, Eren was determined to show Levi that the pills were depressing him, when, in reality, they didn't change anything so far. His depression level hadn't bolted up or zoomed down. It stayed the same, which was quite high.
Eren sighed, feeling tears prickle the edges of his eyes, but he froze when he heard voices.
The rest of the boys were making their way into the room, all of them jabbering with chatter, a buzz of happiness in the air.
No one bothered to share that happiness with Eren.
"Hey, Eren! Why are you in bed so early?" It was Armin. He bent over to look at Eren, but only saw the side of his head (his head was still stuffed in pillow).
"I'm not," Eren replied dully. "You guys are late. Like always."
Armin laughed and ditched him as he went over to talk to the others. Soon, all of them were in their beds, as snug as a bug.
But Eren couldn't sleep. At least, the pills wouldn't let him.
