Sitting up straight with a small gasp as he was awoken from a nightmare, Lan Sizhui panted softly and looked around the small sleeping lodge that he and the other disciples shared.

Wiping the pooling sweat dripping down his forehead, the teen bit back a whimper as he slid out of bed and pulled on his white robes, bringing them closer to him when a breeze of cool wind swept against his chilled skin

Wiping the pooling sweat dripping down his forehead, the teen bit back a whimper as he slid out of bed and pulled on his white robes, bringing them closer to him when a breeze of cool wind swept against his chilled skin.

Opening the sliding doors as quietly as he could, Lan Sizhui paused and glanced back at a sleeping Lan Jingyi before he stepped out into the night, making his way towards the familiar JingShi. Keeping his steps as quiet as he could so he wouldn't get caught being out past the clan's resting hour, Lan Sizhui finally stopped in front of his Dad and Mom's resting area and stopped, silently debating whether or not he should bug them this late at night. Not getting another moment to think, Lan Sizhui gasped softly when he lost his balance and his body moved forward as he slapped his face against the door.

"What was that? Is someone out there?" - Grabbing the door to push himself back up just as it opened, Lan Sizhui blinked owlishly as a blurry image of Wei appeared in front of him. Swallowing the lump in his scratchy throat, Lan Sizhui went to open his mouth but all that left it was heavy coughs as his body leaned forward.

Frowning softly at this, Wei Ying peaked behind to him to see Lan Zhan shrugging on his white robes before he turned his attention to his obviously sick son.

Reaching out, Wei Wuxian helped the younger male to stand straight before he pressed his hand to his forehead, feeling the heat radiating off his skin.

"Er-gege, I think he's sick...he's awfully warm, what do we do?"

"Mn..." Lan Zhan mumbled, moving to stand next to his husband before he too reached out, placing his hand on Lan Sizhui's cheek.

Noticing how hot and flushed the disciple was, Lan WangJi frowned and glanced at Wei, who nodded. Moving until his back was to Lan Sizhui, Lan Wangji crouched down a bit as Wei Ying helped their son on his back and he could lift the teen with no trouble.

Bringing him inside carefully, Lan WangJi heard Wei Wuxian close the door to their JingShi. Not really knowing what was happening as he buried his face in Lan Zhan's shoulder, Lan Sizhui tightened his hold on his Father's robes before he was suddenly placed down on a soft mattress.

 "Sit still."

Nodding even though all he could hear was the muffled word, 'still,' Lan Sizhui observed as the foggy silhouettes of Lan WangJi and Wei Wuxian got close to each other and were talking about something.

Noticing Lan Zhan leaving towards the bathroom, Lan Sizhui tried to turn to follow him with his clouded grey eyes but found he couldn't when Wei Wuxian sat down next to him and gently nudged him down, pushing his bed-headed bangs away from his sweaty face.

Staring up at him, Lan Sizhui leaned into his soft touch and sighed, fighting to keep his eyes from closing as Lan WangJi came back in, holding a wet cloth. Feeling the cool cloth against his forehead, Lan Sizhui hummed and smiled softly at the two older males.

"His fever isn't bad. Let's rest,"-  Lan Zhan mumbled, moving away from Wei Wuxian to slide into their bed, next to Lan Sizhui who looked ready to pass out any moment.

Hearing a soft whine from their son, Wei Ying snorted fondly and quickly hoped to his side of the bed before he crawled in sending a small wave of spiritual energy out, Lan WangJi blew out the flicking candles and let the room finally grow dark, the only light being the full moon outside the open windows of the JingShi. Snuggling closer to Lan Sizhui, Wei Wuxian reached around their son and laced his fingers with Lan Zhan's.

 "Don't worry, Wei Ying."

"I'm not worried. I know you'll take good care of our son," Wei Wuxian chuckled softly, smiling softly when Lan Sizhui turned and buried his face in his shoulder.

Knowing that he was going to get damp from the wet cloth on the boy's forehead, Wei Ying sighed but pulled him closer nonetheless. Squirming a bit himself, Lan WangJi laid on his side and pressed his chest to Lan Sizhui's back so that the young Lan disciple could be sandwiched between the two warmer body.

Snuggling back into each of the warmths that were surrounding him, Lan Sizhui finally allowed his eyes to close as the promise of a proper rest began to make him fade into unconsciousness.

"I wonder if this old trick still works, Er-gege."

Giving his husband a warning look at the teasing nickname, Lan Zhan watched as Wei moved his hand towards Lan Sizhui's back and gently poked down it, mimicking a spider walking. Hearing a small yet childlike giggle bubble out of Lan Sizhui's mouth, Lan WangJi couldn't help the small smile that lifted on his face as the boy's tired and soft giggles tumbled from his mouth as his body shivered before he suddenly grew still.

Noticing this, Wei Wuxian stopped and bit back his laughter, peering over at Lan Zhan, who was staring at the boy confusion.

"Back when he was a little one, I used to give him soft back tickles when he couldn't sleep and it used to make him zonk out faster than any other method I tried. I can't believe it still works,"

Wei whispered, cackling softly before he buried his face in his pillow, letting out a huge yawn. Rolling his eyes as his husband didn't cover the yawn, Lan Zhan pulled the blanket up on the three of them more before he reached back over and placed his arm on Lan Sizhui's hip, keeping his hand open until Wei Ying brought their hands back together.

"Goodnight, Lan Zhan...love you so much."

"Love you too..." Lan WangJi mumbled, observing the way Wei smiled up at him before his eyes fluttered shut and both Lan Sizhui and Wei Wuxian's breathing even out, telling him they had finally fallen asleep. Letting out a hum, Lan WangJi kept his gaze on the both of them until he too began to fall asleep, letting his eyes fall close as one last thought left his mouth as he fell into a dreamless slumber next to his son and husband.

"I love you two. Very much."
