It was Tuesday, and Caleb wasn't as excited for the date as the previous day. He was nervous. He would have cancelled if it weren't because he thought he might get laid at night. At least he hoped so.
He had already sent Eddie his adress, something that made him uneasy. He hadn't had anyone over in a long time. His father barely visited him and his mother couldn't be too much time out of her house. He was ready already, even though there was an hour left from when Eddie was supposed to pick him up.
He decided to wear something simple; a black baggy t-shirt with a Bugs Bunny stamp in the back, his ripped black jeans, his green combat boots and a jacket. He had also added a choker.
He looked at himself in the mirror and hesitated. He loved his outfit, but was slightly worried it wasn't appropiate or that Eddie wouldn't like it. It wasn't like he cared what Eddie thought, though. Just a little.
He sighed and took his night pill with him. His terapist had said he should try to take it everytime he was eating dinner, but under any circumstances he'd take his meds in a date. No way. He checked his phone and saw there were no new texts. Nothing new.
Trying to control his nerves, he sat in front of his keyboard and practiced the song he was working on—Million Reasons by Lady Gaga— until Eddie got there.
It was 8:15 when his doorbell rang. He grabbed his stuff quickly, made sure his hair was on place and took the elevator.
When he saw Eddie, he was almost breathless. How could a man be that handsome? It had to be illegal. He almost went inside the elevator again, thinking he was too good for him. That the entire situation was too good for him. But he shook it off and pulled a straight face and walked towards the door.
Eddie was wearing black jeans and a white hoodie. Caleb was relieved he wasn't wearing formal stuff. When he opened the door, Eddie smiled down at him.
"Hi, Pup."
Caleb tried to hide the little smile at the petname.
"Hey," He said nonachantly.
Eddie just smiled and signaled to his car."May we get in?"
Caleb's straight face fell when he saw the car. His eyes widened and he gaped. He knew very little about cars. But he knew a Madza Miata.
"How rich are you?" He said, as he headed towards the car and inpected it.
Eddie laughed.
"How rich are you?" He answered again, climbing into the car.
Eddie kept on smiling.
"Not that rich."
"Oh, no, but you've got a Madza Miata and who knows what type of house do you have. What do you work for?"
Eddie climbed into the car and pulled the engineer on.
"In a friend's company for oil use. I work in public and international communucations and relations."
Caleb felt a little dissapointed.
"Oil?" He said. "You know what oil makes to the world?"
Eddie looked over at him and started driving.
"Yes."
"And you work for that?"
"Well, what Nico, my friend, is doing is try to control the use of oil. It's a family business, so he's trying to change that. He's trying to spread conciousness, but it's not that easy as it should be. Climate change is shit. And I know it's hypocrite to say it, but Nico is trying."
