"As lovely as your speech was, I still believe that Audrey Rose needn't get hurt over this. I'm the one you want to torture, so why not take me instead?" Zachery said to Jeremy, raising his hands in surrender as he began to inch himself forward to the end.

"Very chivalrous of you, brother, but it's a no. I've said my bit, and now it's time to get my reward." There was no emotion in Jeremy's voice, only a horse twang which was building through his shouting.

I had wanted to bring a weapon to this evening; maybe a pistol tied into my corset, or a dagger wrapped to my thigh perhaps. I thought that if I was the bait, I could at least be dangerous bait. But Zachery was not liking that idea, however. His argument was that I would be more likely to get hurt if I had something like that on me. Either by stabbing myself from impact, or by being executed there and then if it was found. I understood his point, but it made this a bit trickier.

"Look, she is innocent. She has done nothing to you, she does not deserve this. Take me instead and do what you will." Zachery continued to try and reason with him, as Jared was starting to look bored with the bouncing back and forth between the brothers. It was obvious he had been used to this before, in very different circumstances obviously. Zachery was pleading with him and edging closer with each begging gesture he made. He looked more desperate with each passing breath and Jeremy was enjoying every second of it. He was basking in the way his brother was powerless before him, and how he had everything under his control.

The tension between the brothers was undeniably thick, to the point that it could have been sliced through with a spoon. Jared was obviously feeling this too, however, he seemed to be enjoying it a tad more than I.

That's exactly how I needed it to be.

Jared was busy watching the show that was being put on before him, so he wasn't paying all that much attention when I began to raise my arms slightly as I started to mutter to Zachery something along the lines of "It's okay Zachery, It's okay."

Jared just hushed me sternly, but I had moved just enough so that my left hand just under where he was holding the knife and my right arm lifting just above my head, by where his elbow was. It looked as if I was getting overly upset, so no one really paid me much notice, but I knew what I was doing.

It all happened so fast. With a blink of the eye it would have been missed.

I grabbed onto Jared's wrist that was holding the knife with my left hand tightly, pulling it close to my chest as I pulled his hand lower towards my stomach. Whilst I did that, I held my right arm high and held it against his elbow so he wasn't able to let go. Jared finally realised what was going on, but I had had a split second of a head start whilst he was preoccupied on the boys.

I lowered my face down to his forearm and opened my mouth wide as I bit into his arm as hard as I possibly could, imagining it was something other than human. Jared recoiled and by reflex dropped the knife, but not before I drew blood. The metallic taste in my mouth was sickening and made my stomach turn instantly, but it was worth it. He let out an almighty yell which sounded like thunder crashing down beside me and sending a current all throughout my body. My adrenaline was at an all time high as everything turned into a blur around me.

Although Giles and the other guards were not in on our last resort plan, they didn't miss a beat as they jumped into action at the sight of what I had just done. Giles instantly kicked the knife away from Jared in a direction far away from us all and jumped onto Jared like a wolf tackling its prey. He had obviously been longing for this for a while, even before tonight. I didn't blame him. Jared has always been an ass. Killer or no killer.

The other two helped Giles contain Jared's retaliation, and were successful in finally restraining his hands behind his back with handcuffs, despite earning a few kicks from the prisoner.

Zachery had gone straight for Jeremy. Grabbing him my the throat without a second thought, pushing him up against the back wall of his room. The look on Zachery's face was rage infused, it was dangerous and animalistic. Jeremy's face was surprisingly similar. There was no fear in his eyes, only anger and willingness for the fight ahead.

Zachery pushed his hand harder around Jeremy's throat as he was fully pushed up against the wall now, struggling for breath through Zachery's firm grip. Bits of saliva were spitting out of his mouth with every breath he took, with his face starting the quiver from the lack of oxygen.

Zachery's face didn't even flinch. His hand was steady, as everyone else in the room had their eyes on him and Jeremy. The room was now silent apart from their ragged breaths.

"Now, little baby brother. What do you suggest we do now, eh? Shall I destroy everything you love? It won't take long, as all you care for is yourself." Zachery spat out bitterly, resenting that this was his own flesh and blood.

"Sir, shall I take him to-" Giles began, but before he could continue, Zachery raised his free hand slowly.

"One moment Giles, please." Zachery said softly, without taking his eyes off of Jeremy.

I walked over to Giles and placed my hand on his arm gently, trying to reassure him, even though I was as worried as he was about what was about to happen.
