Fire

The fire of their friendship found me when I felt all alone,
but it's strong flames seem to have died out now that we've all grown.

I burn all of the bridges connecting us to keep warm in this neverending blizzard,
just like an old rose,
I feel so withered.

I feel separate from my body as the flames grow taller,
I can feel the waves of hopelessness growing stronger,
they catch me as I fall down,
and they force me under, hugging me as I drown.

The fire of their friendship scoops me up out of the sea,
they refuse to let me flee.
