Chapter Three

School finished about two hours ago and I'm on my way to pick up Abbey. If you're wondering, yes I can drive a car. But my mum picks me up from school because she only has the one car.

When I arrive I'm walking around all these people in high class uniforms or happy families who are leaving or just came back from a trip somewhere. How I wish I was going somewhere away from here, my life is so boring. I find out that Abbeys plane isn't due for another hour because of some weather troubles which made her plane have to stop somewhere. What I'm going to do in this time; I have no idea.

I decide to go to a coffee shop and grab something to eat and a drink. It's not like I have the kind of money to buy airport food but I'm hungry.

"Uh, could I get a coffee and a sandwich with carrot, ham, cucumber and cheese?" I ask to lady at the counter.

"Sure thing love, go take a seat and we'll bring it out to you." I smile and turn to walk away.

As I turn around in the direction of the tables, someone walks straight into me and next thing all I feel is a hot liquid burning into my school uniform, and my skin.

"Oh my gosh ow!" I say pulling my wet shirt so it won't touch my stomach and burn me much more.

"I'm so sorry, here let me help," a boy says in a Birmingham accent.

I look up to see him at the counter getting napkins, he turns around and I lock eyes with him. I'm not going to lie, he's attractive, and I'm also embarrassed out of my mind. He puts his hand on my back and lightly pushes me out of the way of people trying to get to the counter.

"Here use these. I'm really sorry."

I look up at him and all I see in his expression is guilt. At least he cares and didn't just walk off. That happened to me at school once. Also an embarrassing moment.

"Thank you.." I say quietly, "it's fine though."

My entire shirt and the ends of my hair are soaked with coffee because I wore it down today. I sit down at a table and he takes a seat on the opposite chair to me.

"Hey I have a spare shirt in my suit case, I can quickly go grab it for you?"

I sit and think for a moment.
"Uh no it's fine, really." I reply.

"It's cold outside and you have a wet shirt, my mate has our bags just over there, I'll be right back."

"Okay," I say quietly giving him a small smile.

He gets up and walks away, wouldn't be surprised if he never comes back. Abbey is going to laugh so hard when I tell her about this.

I try and squeeze the coffee out of my hair and shirt. It's been about 10 minutes so I don't think he's coming back. I stand up to head towards the bathroom, it would be nice if people would stop staring at me. I look away from them and see a curly-haired boy running towards me, it's him. He's carrying a grey shirt in his hand, I guess that's for me. I smile at him.

"Here, sorry I took so long. My friend walked off and I had to go find him." He says, puffed from running.

I give him a light laugh, "Thank you-"

"Brad," he says.

"Thank you, Brad." I say smiling. "I'll just go put this on." I turn and walk towards the bathroom. "Oh, I'm Cara by the way."

He smiles at me, "nice to meet you." He says, I smile back and continue walking towards the bathroom.
