Sophie POV?:
"Fitz" was all I could muster to say and when I said his name I could see Keefe's face flicker with an emotion, jealousy? No, that couldn't be. It's Keefe. He doesn't like me in that way, does he?
"What did he do?'
I sucked in a sharp breath and said, "He um...I um told him something.....and he um......" I couldn't continue. I just curled up in a ball and cried harder.
"Hey, don't worry. You can trust me." He said, putting two fingers on my chin and slightly lifting my head up to look at him.
"I know, it's just hard to talk about." I took a deep breath and told him what happened at the panakes tree. A couple of times I saw his eyes flicker with another emotion. Anger? Once I finished, Keefe sighed as I burst into tears yet again.
"I'm sorry Keefe *sniff* I know I'm dumb for believing that he might actually accept that I'm....Unmatchable. ." I looked down. I guess I kind of felt... betrayed.
"Foster, your not the dumb one. Fitz is, for letting a special girl like you go. In fact, you're one of the smartest people I know. You have so many good qualities and a confidence in you. So what if you're unmatchable? Any smart elf would know that isn't a good enough reason to leave Sophie Elizabeth Foster, a wonderful, kind elf who cares so much about people she doesn't even know." I looked at him in awe and realized what I'd been missing. The one for me was here all along. I didn't know what happened, but it happened fast.
I crashed my lips onto his. He let out a squeak of surprise and then before I knew what was happening he was kissing back. Soon enough, we parted for air.
"What about Fitz?" Keefe asked.
"What about him?"
"I thought you liked him"
He made it pretty clear that he didn't want me and why would I like anyone who was that rude to me. I didn't know what I was missing." I said, and we both kissed again, this time it was more intense and we ended up on my bed, me being on top of him. I have no idea what this meant but it felt right.
I leaned in to kiss him again but then I heard the door open slightly and a gasp, I snapped my head around and saw Grady glaring at Keefe with a deep hatred. Sandor was standing beside him with a matching look. Ro came up behind them and smirked at Keefe with a knowing look. And Edaline was swooning with a look that said Tell me everything. We both blushed and I quickly got off of him and said, "Don't you knock?"
"Uh, you think we didn't?" Grady said, with his teeth gritted. Sandor let out a squeaky sigh and continued to glare at Keefe as he got off my bed. Keefe gave a sheepish smile.
"I think you should start running." Ro went up to Keefe and whispered.
"Good idea" Keefe replied and darted past Grady, Edaline and Sandor. I laughed at how terrified he looked.
"Anyways" Grady's angry voice brought me back to the present and I realized that I would probably be getting the talk from them. I was so not excited.
