Walking over to her friends, Addy and Toni both looked as if they were about to throw up. "Are you two okay? You don't look so good".
"Ohh were good, just you know, you were talking to someone that literally looks like he kills people for a living" Toni piped up making Lucinda laugh.
Toni hardly was intimidated or scared. She expected Addy to be intimidated but not Toni, at least not for Toni to be this scared that she would voice it."He does not. He's kind so far", Lucinda grabbed her keys from the girls, "and anyone in here could be a killer, even one of the baristas could be and we see them at least once a week".
"That's not the pooooint" Toni sung.
"But it isssss" Luce sung back.
Looking over at Addy, Lucinda searched for some help, but all she got was "when you get back. You need to change".
"Ain't that the truth. I'm sticky like everywhere. Down to my shoes might need to be changed - be right back".
Lucinda turned to the door while the girls talked amongst themselves.
"Why are you so quiet?" Toni asked taking a sip of her iced tea and taking out all of her things she'll need for the next hour. "I just keep on getting this urge to not say anything to her about this man. Like I see him and know he's dangerous from the looks of it and I know she isn't scared yet I don't know. I just think I should be quiet on this".
Addy was trying to work her thoughts out. She knew her spirit was agitated with her friend Lucinda but her tongue was being held back. There was something she was definitely missing that her natural eyes could not see.
"Also Lucinda is not naive. I think we should let this go".
Toni was quiet for a moment thinking this through. Usually Addy was right with these things.
"Okay. We'll talk about it later then. Let's just get our stuff together", Toni finished.
With that they both dived into other topics of conversation while waiting for Lucinda.
Lucinda was in the car looking through the gym bag of things she had saved for tomorrow morning. After hanging out with the girls for a bit she was going to go straight to her other friend's house, yet that does not seem to be the case anymore as she was covered, wet and sticky from the mocha despite all the paper towels she used.
Grabbing the bag and a pack of wipes she has in the car, she headed inside towards the bathroom.
The bathroom was thankfully a singular bathroom which means Lucinda had space. It was early in the morning and so a lot of people hadn't used the restroom.
Taking her wash cloth with soap and the wipes, she peeled off her clothes cleaning herself of. Looking in the bag there were only two options for clothes.
Either her sleep wear which is a big no no seeing as it was only a thin tee shirt and shorts. The other option was the clothes she had prepared for going to Boston the next day."Welp. I guess this is going to have to be my clothes for today until I can stop home and repack" she said to herself.
Putting on the outfit she looked at herself in the mirror.
The drink had gotten everywhere everywhere, so even down to her shoes she had to change.
She loved the outfit but she also never dressed this way a lot. She had to be in the mood for it and right in that moment Lucinda was not. She was in the mood for her jeans and a baggy shirt.
The day was supposed to be long, from helping her friends to then filming, three meetings and then finishing up some work so that it was not too much in the morning before she left the city.
"I guess this is it" she said to her reflection.
"Aba, I do not have the confidence for this right now" she mumbled as she walked out of the bathroom.
