When I woke up, I felt the bed for another person. He was gone. I don't know what I was thinking. I kissed a stranger and I let him sleep in my bed. If my dad knew, he would make me come home immediately. But I didn't regret anything. Dacre makes me feel a different way. Different than anybody else has ever made me feel. I don't know what I'm gonna do if I see hin today. It would be hella awkward but I still need groceries. I got up and brushed my teeth. After brushing my hair and getting dressed, I drove towards the grocery store(if you can even call it that). When I got there, and older man that slightly resembled Dacre was behind the counter.
"Goodmorning, young lady."
"Morning, sir."
"Ian never seen you 'round here, what brings you to Emmerdale? Just passing through?"
"Well, I actually moved here yesterday."
"Ahh. Well welcome." He smiled
"Thank you." I smiled back at him. After I finished getting groceries I walked back up to the counter and checked out.
"Say, you need a job girl?" I smiled.
"That would be helpful. Yeah." He chuckled.
"How about Tuesday's, Thursday's, and Friday's. You come up here for me. 12 to 6. I pay fair. Besides my son's proven to be unreliable."
"Son?"
"Yeah. Dacre. Have you met that boy yet. He's a pain in the ass." I nodded, suddenly unphased by his kindness.
"I've met him."
"Hope he didn't give you any trouble."
"No sir. Thank you for the job opportunity. I'll be here." I grabbed my bags and quickly walked to my truck. After getting home, I put everything away and unpacked the rest of my stuff. A sudden wave of tiredness came over me and I crashed on the couch.

Dacre

When I woke up, it was 8 p.m.. I had barely gotten any sleep and left her place early in the morning to sneak into mine. I was gonna sleep for a couple hours but clearly I overslept. My dad was gonna kill me. I jumped out of the bed and ran downstairs.
"Hey Dana." I hugged her.
"Hi Dacre. Your daddy's pretty upset with you."
"I figured."
"Where were you last night."
"I took the new girl to a party."
"You got home pretty late though."
"Yeah, she needed a ride home."
"Well he said to tell you to be ready to talk when he gets home. I'm gonna head to bed, I don't feel the best."
"Okay Dana. Goodnight." She doesn't know what he does to me. And I would never tell her because she loves him and that would break her heart. Just as she went upstairs, the front door opened and I attempted to do the dishes.
"Hey dad."
"Don't hey me. Guess who I met today."
"Who?" I mumbled.
"A lovely young lady. I didn't catch her name but I'm sure you know. She works at the gas station now."
"Who are you talking about?" He grabbed the back of my shirt, turned me around, and slammed me against the fridge.
"Oh so you just go around fucking girls without asking their names huh? Where are your manners?" He yelled.
"Dana's sleep." I mumbled. He looked at me in awe before punching me in my face. I grabbed my face and tried to turn around but he slammed me into the fridge again and punched me again.
"You were so hungover you couldn't even come to work." He punched me in the stomach and I doubled over.
"Sorry." I managed to get out before he struck me so hard in the face, I blacked out.

It was about 12:00 in the morning when a loud knock on my door. It was almost frantic. I looked out the peep hole and saw Dacre. When I opened the door he stumbled into the house and fell on the floor.
"Dacre? What happened?" I sat him up against the wall and crouched over him.
"I...I got in trouble." He managed to say before he coughed up blood.
"Oh my god. Okay. Wait right here. I'm gonna get-" I started to stand up but he grabbed my arm.
"Please don't go." He cried.
"Dacre, I'm just gonna go-"
"Please." I sat down and he laid his head on my chest and cried. When he stopped crying, he sat up and looked at me.
"I'm gonna go get the first aid kit now. Can you go sit at the table?" He stood up and limped to the table. I grabbed the first aid out the bathroom and came back to him.
"Are you going to tell me what happened?"
"I got home in the morning but they still heard me. And then I missed work. And my dad thinks I'm fucking you."
"I would love that." I said, attempting to make a joke. He just shook his head.
"I used to be like that. A major asshole."
"Me too. Any guy could have it. That's partially why I'm here."
"I really appreciate you. You've shown more love than anyone has to me since my mom died."
"You don't have to thank me." After I bandaged him up, he gave me his number and left. I really didn't want him going back to his house but I didn't want him to get into any more trouble. I couldn't sleep the rest of the night. I was too worried about Dacre.
