Over the next month they seemed to gain a sense of normalcy in the form of routine.

Vanya would go and spend time outside (away from the house but close enough to shout if needed) and practice trying to gain control of her abilities.

Klaus would lock himself away in his room, trying to render Ben tangible once more, although the other two didn't know what he was doing.

Diego would be on his laptop in the barren living room: job hunting. Until he could find a more permanent fit, he took odd jobs in the nearby town. Yard work, car wash, delivery, muscle for hire - you need it, he'd do it.

They would switch off cooking and cleaning duties, and always spend quality time together in the afternoon. Sounds pretty nice, right? They sure thought so. Little did they know, their routine was about to change - for the better.

~ Klaus P.O.V. ~

I've been trying for weeks to make this work and still... Nothing. I'm starting to give u- NO. No, I can't give up- I won't. It's not fair to Ben. I have to do this; for him.

With this thought in mind, I look up with determination and make eye contact with the spirit sitting opposite me on my bed. Muttering "I've got this," under my breath, I take a deep breath and focus all my energy into my hands before placing them where Ben's shoulders are.

Focus.

Deep breaths.

I can do this.

"-aus,"

I can do this.

Focus.

"...Klaus,"

The first thing that registers is that I don't feel drained using my powers, but rather free.

The second thing that registers is the fabric under my hands... The solid fabric under my hands...

My eyes snap open and- Ben.
Before I know it I'm being engulfed in a hug- Ben's hug- something I never though I'd experience again.

There's ugly sobbing and I'm not quite sure which of us the noise is coming from. Probably both of us. Oh who am I kidding, it's me.

Ben buries his face in my soft yellow t-shirt, probably trying to convince himself this is real. "You really did it," his voice is both laced with so many conflicting emotions and effectively muffled by my shirt.

We sit like this, clutching each other like any moment my arms would go through him. After we manage to reassure our selves that yes, this is real and no, he's not going anywhere anytime soon if I have anything to say about it, we separate.

My eyes widen with realization. "... We have to tell the others!" Ben matches my excitement and we get working on a plan. What, did you think we were just going to run out and tell them? No, we need the art of presentation.

"I'm calling a house meeting!" I shouted as I walked down the hall, exiting my room. Vanya had come in from her weird woods time and was having a conversation in the kitchen with Diego when he interrupted.
