"forget it jaehyun, jacob can just walk me home, he lives nearer to me anyway. see you in school on monday!"you bid goodbye to jaehyun. he didn't seem happy ever since jacob joined you both for dinner. but why did he invite jacob to his birthday party the other day if he disliked him that much?

it was a silent walk with jacob since the both of you were admiring the beautiful night sky. "y/n?" he called your name. he gestured you to sit down beside him and you did so. "what do you think of me?" he asked. you laughed at the question and nonchalantly answered that he was one of your hot friends that you have. 

his smile died down. "i... like you" he confessed. you were taken aback and you kept quiet because you didn't know what to answer. is this legit? you never had anyone confess to you before. it's so awkward because you had no idea what to answer.

"i... dont know what my own feelings are, jacob. i thought i liked you but when i spent the whole day with jaehyun today, i feel like i like him all over again.. maybe i was just using you to forget about him. that was selfish of me wasn't it? but wow, it's an honour to have someone hot as you to confess to me you know?" you laughed, cracking a joke but it didn't humor to jacob.

well it was a bad time to joke anyway. 

"can we be friends instead? we only recently know each other.. i admit i found you hot and get butterflies somehow but with jaehyun, the feelings just hit different... damn i look like the bad guy in this situation now" you said while playing with your nails.

"i understand, it's only been weeks. you were classmates jaehyun for a whole year, of course your feelings were still lingering for him. hahaha, i just wanted to try my luck my but unfortunately your heart still belong to him huh?" he replied while patting your shoulders lightly.

you lifted up your head and saw jacob smiling. but you knew it wasn't a genuine smile, it was a smile of someone hurting. you felt really bad but didn't want to make jacob be hopeful, just like what jaehyun did to you. 

"friends?" you asked.
