Alex's POV
We had been up early, on July 19th to go see yet another Doctor for Kaylee. "I don't wanna go mamma!" Kaylee whined I rolled my eyes, *not that big of a deal Kaylee* I thought, we went inside the Lobby was small (it was only an annex of a much larger building.) it had cushioned chairs to the left of the room, it was slightly darkened with a lamp to keep the light. Strait ahead to the left were some newspaper clippings of all the people this Doctor had helped. "Hello." Said my mom politely to the receptionist, "We are here to see Doctor (I have forgotten his name so we will call him Bob)"
"What's the patients name?" She said kindly, "Kaylee Lerven." My mom answered, "Date of birth?" The lady smiled, "April 8th 1999." My mom answered, "We'll be out to get you in a minute." Within a few minutes of waiting the nurse came out and fetched us. We walked down the hallway and into a room were Kaylee was asked a bunch of questions and typed on a computer. After she was done she turned and smiled, "He will be in shortly." She informed before leaving. After a 30 minute wait he came in. Doctor Bob was a tall man of about mid 40s he was completely bald except some darker patches on the sides of his head. He wore Grey ish brown kakis, and a light blue and white button down shirt and dark brown boots. He had thick rimmed glasses that appeared almost nerd looking, he smiled and sat to begin asking more questions.
"Ok Kaylee I think I want you to wear an EEG monitor tonight with a heart monitor, then tomorrow I will take it off and you can go camping hm?" Kaylee smiled and nodded.
Soon, Kaylee was wired for sound, with wires coming off her head and chest and attaching into a medium sized purse. Then we got in the car and drove back to grandmas, this took place at around 9 A.M.
After we left the hospital we went back to our Grandmas at around 12:00 mom decided to go to Costco for food, "Mom! I don't wanna go! Everyone will make fun of me with these wires." Kaylee cried, "Oh no one will even notice." And with that we were off.
"Mommy were hungry!" Kaylee and I whined as only a 8 and 10 year old could, "Ok I will buy you both a hot dog from the food court." Was our mothers quick answer, "Can't we have pizza?" We begged, "No you have had enough pizza now go find a table." Said mom walking into a lunch line.
Kaylee and I walked to a table and sat, "Hey maybe she will forget and order a pizza for us." I said holding out hope! Kaylee laughed, "please forget, please forget and get pizza please please please!!!" We chanted laughing the whole time, "Here are your Hot dogs." Mom said setting the food down in front of us. "Dang it!" Kaylee said sadly. We both looked at each other and shrugged and started eating, after all....food was food. A picture was taken of us, in a begging position at Costco one of us even had a hot dog in our hand. We looked happy.
Soon, we were home and telling Grandma about the picture, "And then we sat and begged in it it was so funny!" We giggled happily, not being able to find the picture we took another one, Grandma just shook her head and rolled her eyes, she hasn't laughed in a while still morning the loss of her husband only a few months prior.
Our Uncles, Aunts, Grandma and Parents walked out side to start loading the camper for our trip. "Alex! Lets roll these bunnies down the stairs and see how far we can get them!" Kaylee said holding up two stuffed bunnies (no real of course we are not that cruel.) so we did. It was so much fun!!!! We laughed so hard! Then suddenly we heard a squirrel noise we looked out the door and up into the big tree in the back yard, it shook rapidly, "We know your up there!" Kaylee yelled crossing her arms and standing with sass. "We can hear you!" She yelled again and the boy started doing monkey noises, "Come down!" Kaylee yelled and we heard nothing more. I laughed, "I think you scared him off." I laughed, "Good." She answered walking into the house.
The best day ever in my life was this account and it goes through into the next day. (Recorded in next chapter)
