After dinner, Ethan helped me with the dishes. Grayson offered to help too, but Ethan just shooed him away.
"So, why'd your mom just dump ya here?" Ethan asked, concerned. "I'm failing 3 classes and wouldn't give her my phone when she tried taking it," I shrugged my shoulders.
"You're failing 3 classes?!" He seemed shocked. "Yeah, well I'm not the smartest kid yanno..." I was embarrassed. Ethan could tell. "Well, hopefully we have classes together and I could tutor you!" Ethan offered. "Thanks, that's sweet," I muttered sheepishly. Ethan smiled and winked at me.
After we finished we went out to the garage to find my dad teaching Grayson some new wrestling techniques. They started a fake match and I was cheering for my dad, while Ethan was cheering for Grayson. We both kept laughing, they looked silly.
"C'mon let's go upstairs," I grabbed Ethan's arm. I led him into my room and was so relieved that I had picked up a little before I went over to his house.
Ethan sat on my two-person couch, located in the corner of my room. I sat next to him.
"So, how long are you living with your dad?" Ethan seemed a little uneasy. "Hopefully I can stay until the end of the school year, and then I'll probably spend the summer here," I assured him. Ethan kind of breathed a sigh of relief. I decided to change the subject of attention towards Ethan, to get to know him a little better.
We talked about his opinion on their big move. He seemed okay with it, and actually seemed a little excited for school on Monday. He was ready for a fresh start, and to be honest, so was I.
"Hey, Ethan? Can I ask you something?" I asked questioningly. "Sure," he nodded and gave me a smile. "Do you mind if I hang out with you at school this next week? I've never really been good at making friends and I'm just really nervous about the new school-"
I was cut off by him kissing me. I was surprised. I had a million thoughts and feelings going through my head, but they were all positive.
We'd been kissing for like 10 seconds when my bedroom door flew open.
There stood Grayson. He was a little sweaty from the wrestling and the smile on his face disappeared quickly as he saw what had happened.
He grabbed Ethan's arm in a hostile manner, "We have to go. Now." Grayson basically dragged him down the stairs and out the door. I yelled goodbye and received a smirk from Ethan and not even a look from Grayson.
What was that about?
