Flying to lotus pier was a form of relaxation for both of the gods. Above they could see the crystal clear waters and the beautifully grown green trees near the river banks. Yaling could see why her cousin Mazu loved flying. Above the earth, you could see so many things that normal people could never understand. Looking down at her brother she could see how relaxed he was in the air.

Although flying on a sword would never be the same as flying free. She had tried to teach Xiang to fly without the need of a sword but he could only go about 7 meters before falling to the ground. Luckily Yue Lao had been there to catch him or else he probably would have broken something.

As she finished her Musing she saw the edge of lotus pier's dock ahead. She lowered her feet onto her brother's sword and descended onto the dock. Yaling could see her friend a-Li and her 2 older brothers Jiang Cheng and Wei Wu Xian. She could see Jiang's father Jiang Fengmian on the dock as well. Presumably, they were waiting for them.

letting her feet fall onto the wooden dock Yaling quickly greeted the Jiang sect leader with a bow and went to be with Yanli. her brother went to be with Jiang cheng and his brother instead. Xiang was good friends with Jiang cheng and Yaling sometimes wondered how it happened. She let go of her thoughts when she saw her brother smile. Jiang Fengmian informed the group that they had to leave lotus pier now or else they would be late. She nodded and beckoned the rest of the group to the boat.

She gave one last bow to the Jiang sect leader before getting on the boat with her brother and the Jiang siblings. She sat next to Yanli and engaged in some light conversation before enjoying some of the lotus seeds she had brought for her. She could hear the 3 boys discuss their plans and what they're going to do in Gusu. She let out a light scoff when she heard Wei Wu Xian talk about drinking Gusu's renowned alcohol named Emperors Smile. That drew the boy's attention towards Yaling and Yanli.

Yaling," Are you sure you're going to be able to sneak alcohol into Cloud recess? What if someone sees you? Drinking alcohol is prohibited after all."

He nodded and told her that he'll definitely be able to. Yaling sighed and shook her head. "Well don't say I didn't warn you." Yanli tried to talk Wei Ying out of it but to no avail. Jiang cheng and Xiang only sighed and simultaneously rolled their eyes. Sometimes she wondered if Yue Lao could even be as mischievous as Wei Ying.

The group of 5, as well as a few others, arrived at gusu. They walked up to an inn with their belongings intending to book rooms but were told by the owner that all the rooms have been booked. Yaling looked around and noted that the inn was quite large which meant that someone extremely wealthy had a large entourage with them. Wei Wu Xian asked where this person was but he didn't have to ask further as a man in Gold and white robes with a vermilion between his eyebrows entered the inn with a large number of servants.

Yaling and Xiang identified the man as the son of Jin Guangshan, Jin Zixian. She remembered hearing Yanli say that she was going to have an arranged marriage with the man. Keeping her thoughts about the man to herself she and the rest of the crew gave a polite bow.

' I really shouldn't judge by impressions but this jin Zixian sort of seems like a prick. Maybe he is a bit better when you get to know him although I can't really say.' Yaling thought. As Jin Zixian started talking and instructing his servants to get him tea, the group followed Wei Wu Xian upstairs towards the rooms. ' should I try to stop him? We technically aren't allowed but oh well. We got this far anyway.'

The Jiangs settled into one room while the Zhangs settled in the one next to it. Before she entered the room she heard footsteps following her. She gave Xiang her case and told him to head inside. She turned around to see a 2 girl roughly 2 inches shorter than her wearing yellow and white robes. She gave a small bow to the girls and proceeded to have a short conversation with her. She learned one of the girls' names was Luo Qingyang or what her other friend called her: Mian Mian.

Yaling observed that the girl had quite a quick temper but seemed to have a strong sense of logic and justice. She also learned that she was attending the lectures at cloud recess as well. After their short conversation, they had decided to become acquaintances and Yaling headed back to her room. ' i wonder if they'll let us stay? They haven't written us off yet so it should be fine.'

She was beginning to relax before she heard Wei wu xian try to talk to Mian Mian and her friend. From what she heard and knowing Wei Wu Xian's personality she knew he was probably trying to trick the girls into letting them stay. She decided to simi tune out the conversation and eat some of the lotus seeds she saved from the boat ride. After she heard Wei Wu Xian finish his conversation she knew they were probably good to stay here.

She also heard Jiang cheng scold him and let out a little laugh at that. She looked over to see Xiang passed out on the bed with a book over his face. Yaling smiled at her older brother's antics and decided to visit Yanli. Unfoutinutly she saw Jin Zixian and Wei Wu Xian cross paths again as they exchanged a few less than nice words with each other. She paused or a second to observe the situation before she heard Jiang Cheng say that they were going to leave. Spotting Mian Mian and her friends who were with Jin Zixain she gave a little wave before going back into the room to wake up her brother and take out her invitation.

She poked at her brother's face to wake him up but he just wouldn't wake. Raising her hand she drew water from the teapot on the dark wood table and manipulated it to only fall on his face. Before that, she moved the book that was on her brother's face so as to not damage it. The water then fell onto her brother's face which quickly woke him up.

He shot her a confused look before she explained that they were leaving for cloud recess and reminded him to bring his invitation. It took him a second to process what she said before nodding his head. The image made Yaling crack a small smile. ' How is it that he's the older brother? It seems like I'm the one taking care of him half the time.' Leaving the room with their belongings they followed The Jiangs to Cloud recess.
