Ruby made her way to Masons stand setting her basket down sitting behind it, staring at the young man.
Mason riches down and scratches Ruby lightly under her chin, causing a small purr to erupt from the creatures small chest.
"Hey there Ruby. come to collect for the mistress? Go ahead and grab what you need." he said with a chuckle.
Ruby quickly made her way around the stand grabbing what she needed placing everything in the basket. When she was done she grabbed the bag of coins out of her basket and placed it in front of herself for the merchant. He scoops up the bag taking the needed amount out placing the rest back in the bag and dropping it into the small basket.
"Here you are Ruby. Be safe heading home." The cat looks up at the mans hand that holds a small fish shaped cookie, Ruby's favorite treat. She takes it in her small mouth and rubs her back against Mason's hand inclining him to pet her. He obliges giving the red eyed cat a few genital rubs before she hops from the stand, basket in her mouth heading back home.
As Ruby returns back to her cottage she spots two tall men waiting on the cobblestone path just yards from the front door. Taking a moment to think, Ruby decided to try and sneak around to the back of the house to best avoid the men who were defiantly there for her key. As she turns around the man on the left made a loud noise that sounded almost like a victorious laugh. As though he already held the precious key.
Not moments after the laugh could loud sloppy footsteps be herd pounding after poor Ruby.
