Final Showdowns
Jason McNeil versus Bella Palmer
"Bella's skipping the ropes. She has a three-inch height advantage. This is where McNeil stumbled in their first race, this transition to the cargo net. Gets it this time. Dead even through four obstacles. They make the first transition at the same time. This is a race, not a synchronized swimming competition! Remember, Bella hasn't used that first notch. McNeil has. Will that slow him down?
"Both of them going for the second notch. McNeil slips out, and he won't be getting a second chance. Bella Palmer gets her fastest time, 42.08!"
Addy Herman versus Ben Behrends
"So Bella Palmer locks up her spot in the 9/10 semifinals. But we still have two more spots to fill. To find out who will be moving on for the 11/12 year olds, let's head down to the starting line, where our next two competitors are ready to go.
"We have a rematch between Addy Herman and Ben Behrends. In their first race, they were even until Ben found victory just out of reach. Will he find redemption now? Will Addy be able to hold him off for a second time?
"Ben is a little more efficient on the rings, getting a half step ahead. Addy skips the last peg, evens it up. Are the ninjas today tied together with elastic bands? They don't want to get more than a foot apart.
"Who can be more efficient on the Fly Wheels? Neither one is able to get the advantage on the first transition. Ben gets the dismount, but can he get the buzzer? Taking a moment to get ready, but he doesn't have a moment. Addy's right behind him!" They reach the notch at the same time. Addy struggles to pull herself up, and Ben reaches the buzzer first.
Celena Vanhaezebrouck versus Sophie Shaft
"Theirs was another seeding race decided by the Warped Wall. Celena gets the early lead, but here comes Sophie on the Devil Steps! This is exactly like their first race! Well, I'm sure Celena would be happy with a repeat performance, but Sophie wants a change! This dismount is where Celena took the lead for good the last time. But Sophie isn't giving up an inch. She's keeping it even! A race up the Warped Wall! Oh, Celena wasn't even close. Sophie gets her fingertips up, the opposite of the first time!"
Semifinalists
Bella Palmer (upset)
Ben Behrends (upset)
Sophie Shaft (upset)
A/N: Second episode in a row with three new semifinalists! Can't wait for the semifinals! Also, Sophie really improved in season two. She got up the Warped Wall on her first try every race. And Jason was eliminated in a similar way- going for a big move that he just barely wasn't capable of.
This episode could have been the second with all girls advancing, but Tic Toc struck again! (Seriously, what does it have against girls? What do second obstacles in general have against Bella?) And this time, I struck and took out one of the girls!
Poll: On the season one courses, was it more important to have upper- or lower-body strength?
