Sixty-four of the most talented nine- and ten-year-old athletes this country has to offer came here looking for glory. They soared higher than anyone thought possible, and left us speechless. This age group proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that even though they may be the smallest competitors here, on this course they are giants. And now, sixteen amazing semifinalists have returned to claim their spot in the finals, and come one step closer to the title of American Ninja Warrior Junior champion.
First Round
Taylor Greene versus Bella Palmer
"First Taylor Greene wowed the Internet, and then she wowed us. Whether it was her technique on the I-Beam, or her mastery of the Spin Cycle, three races and three buzzers. Taylor is truly a force to be reckoned with."
Taylor Greene"Bella Palmer is a creative ninja who loves designing obstacles, and she's proven that she has the blueprint for victory. Her speed and skills on the Warped Wall led her to be undefeated in qualifying, and she isn't ready to give up her perfect record just yet."
Bella PalmerHeight: 4'7"
Record: 3-0
Best Time: 42.08
Best Obstacle: Warped Wall
"This is the semifinals. There's no backing down now. They're going to be pushed more than ever before.
"Look at the determination on their faces. They know the final eight is near. They want it.
"Locked in step for step. Both of them skip the second rope.
"A big jump onto the I-Beam by Taylor, and she's pulling away! But Bella just picked up the pace. She is right on Taylor's heels.
"Will either one be able to link the baskets? Taylor keeps the lead, but she missed her dismount! Bella's off first! Both of them go straight to the second handhold, but once again Bella Palmer is the belle of the ball!
"Well, a dramatic conclusion to our very first race. Let's take another look at what happened on Spin Cycle.
"Taylor's lead was always small. When she missed her dismount, Bella saw her opportunity, and made a big move to take the lead.
"So Bella Palmer gets the first spot in the Elite Eight. To find out who she'll face in the next round, let's head back down to the starting line."
Luke Sarion versus David Futeran
"In his first race, Luke Sarion came up short of victory. But when others would have given up, he came back fighting. His speed on the early obstacles gave him two impressive wins. And his fast feet have been enough to make up for his struggles on Spin Cycle."
Luke Sarion
