Angeline woke to someone banging on her front door. She climbed out of bed, wrapping her robe around her. Before she made it to the door more banging came from her door along with someone shouting her name.
"Open the door Angeline!!" She knew who that voice belonged to, and it made her a little nervous. It had been over a week since their stroll down memory lane at the diner and he hadn't contacted her since. So why was he here all of a sudden trying to break her door down.
She finally gathered enough courage to open the door. Alex look like he hadn't slept in days. His normally clean shaven face was covered in a five o'clock shadow, and he had dark circles under his eyes. He didn't wait for Angeline to invite him in, he pushed past her without even saying a word to her. Now she was really starting to worry. What was going on? His words from the other night rang in her head. "We are in danger."
"Alex what are you doing here? Why do you look like you haven't slept in days?" Angeline wanted to ask more questions but was stopped as soon as he looked at her. The look he was giving her would make anyone's blood run cold. His look made her think he just witnessed something horrendous, something no one wants to see.
Before she could say another word he was wrapping his arms around her, hugging her a little to tightly. But she was enjoying the contact. He eventually loosened his hold and asked "Are you okay?" Angeline looked at him with a dumbfounded look, and just nodded. He let her go and walked over to look out her living room window and started to explain. "Amelia has been sending me warnings for the past week. Saying that if I come near you again she was going to kill you." He looked over at Angeline, her eyes wide and filled with concern. "Last night she sent me this picture and I couldn't believe it. I couldn't stay away any longer." Alex handed her his phone and Angeline felt as if someone was squeezing all the air from her lungs. It was a picture of her sound asleep. Someone had come into her house and did who knows what while she was sleeping. After seeing that she understood why Alex was acting the way he was.
His words cut through her thoughts and she was thankful for that. "I want you to go pack your bags, we are leaving in 10 minutes." Angeline didn't dare question him, she felt violated and wanted out of there immediately. She quickly went to work on packing her things. She had no idea where they were going to go, but she knew as long as Alex was with her she would be safe.

They had been in the car for far to long, Angeline still had no clue as to where they were going. All she knew was that they were going deeper and deeper into the woods. She couldn't take the silence anymore and finally asked, "Where are we going?"
Alex's response was suppose to make her feel better but it only made her more anxious. "We are going where no one can find us." Angeline felt like something wasn't quite right about that. But she decided maybe it was just her nerves. She had felt safe with Alex back at her house, why all of a sudden does she feel like he's the one not to be trusted? She didn't have a chance to think anymore of it because they soon arrived at a beautiful cabin. It was completely surrounded by trees, no one would even know this place was there from the main road.
Alex turned the car off and hopped out, making his way to Angeline's door. He helped her out and they walked to the front door. Alex unlocked the door and went to a panel, typing in a code, turning off the alarm system. Angeline stepped in and looked around the huge room that they were standing in. It looked like a typical cabin from the outside, but on the inside everything was very sleek and modern. Angeline had never been in such a luxurious place, and she felt a little out of place. She suddenly felt arms circle her waist and jumped, she had forgotten she wasn't alone in the extravagant house.
She next felt Alex's lips near her ear as he whispered, "Sorry, didn't mean to startle you." Shivers ran down her spine, she slowly turned around to face him. Wrapping her hands around his neck and locking eyes with him, she just smiled at him. Suddenly feeling ridiculous about her feelings about him in the car.
Once again his voice pulled her from her thoughts, "Are you hungry?" Angeline nodded, they let go of each other and Alex led the way to the kitchen. It was twice the size of her kitchen, marble and stainless steal was all she could see. "This place is beautiful," Angeline couldn't help but to look at everything. Alex let out a little chuckle at her behavior. "What?" she asked him. "You just seem so amazed, like it's the first kitchen you have ever seen." Alex couldn't help but to laugh again, this time at the look she was giving him.
She was about to walk out of the kitchen, but Alex grabbed her arm, pulling her into his chest. "Don't walk away, I didn't mean to upset you." Alex lifted her chin so she was looking up at him, she was having a hard time keeping the scowl on her face. Alex's smile only deepened, he knew she couldn't stay mad. Eventually she couldn't hold it any longer and a smile made it's way onto her face. "I can't believe even after all this time you still have this effect on me." Angeline was still mad, but not at Alex, at herself for caving so quickly. She could never stay mad at him, and apparently that hasn't changed over the years.
Alex released her and turned to walk towards the fridge. The kitchen was fully stocked, enough to last them for a week or two. Alex started taken items and worked on making them some dinner. Alex wasn't sure what was going to happen, but he knew he was not going to let anything happen to Angeline. He wanted her in his life for good, she was forced out of it once and he wasn't going to let it happen again. He would make sure of that.
