Natsume the Youkai God Chapter 7

A/N: Hey guys, this is Seiyuus-are-awesome back with a new chapter. I am so sorry it took me so long to update. 😭

Anyways I think you guys have waited long enough to start hating me, so let's get on with the story. 😅

After everyone was back to safety, Tanuma told Natsume that he will join the other Karasu Tengu to get information about the enemy. Natsume nodded and told him to stay safe and to not overdo anything. Tanuma, after hearing that, left into the sky and flew off, but not before kissing Natsume on the cheek and telling him to get some rest since Natsume has been using so much Youryoku (demonic/youkai power). Natsume blushed a little at the gesture and smiled at Tanuma, bidding him goodbye for now.

Natsume, after Tanuma left, yawned and said to Rikuo and the others "I'm sorry but would it be okay if I take a nap for an hour or so? I haven't used this much power in so long so it tired me out."

Rikuo nodded and answered "Sure. Get a good rest. You've already done a lot for us."

Natsume smiled "Thank you Rikuo-kun." He yawned once again, and retreated inside the Takarabune.

Everything was peaceful for some time, but soon the peace was broken by the appearance of a strong youkai. He had six arms and was extremely tall. The muscles on his arm and the overwhelming youki quickly made Rikuo and the others understand that this was the dangerous youkai that Natsume talked about earlier. Rikuo immediately engaged in battle as he needed to protect his Hyakki. However, the overwhelming difference in strength only allowed him leeway to dodge the youkai's attacks. Even using his osore was not letting him completely avoid the attacks. The fight caused a huge ruckus and Natsume woke up.

Natsume slowly walked out of the Takarabune, rubbing his still sleepy eyes. "What's the matter? I heard a huge ruckus out here but..." He looked at Rikuo who was engaging in battle with Tsuchigumo. Tsuchigumo and Natsume locked eyes.

Tsuchigumo stopped attacking "Natsume! Surprising to see you back in battle. Let's fight.. But..." He moved with a speed that no one could react to, grabbed Tsurara and jumped back into the forest, tearing down trees and shouting "This place is too small, so follow me when you're ready and we'll fight in some place more larger!"

Rikuo yelled "Tsurara!!!" He tried to chase after Tsuchigumo, but with his wounds, he couldn't move fast enough to catch up with Tsuchigumo.

Natsume sighed at Tsuchigumo's proposal and walked over to Rikuo. Natsume apologized to Rikuo for Tsuchigumo's behavior and explained how he was not all evil like he may seem to be. Natsume then began to light up "I'll heal you right now so please don't move okay? 我、天女の力を持ってこの者に癒しを与える。光の恵み。(Ware, Tennyo no chikara wo motte kono mono ni iyashi wo ataeru. Hikari no megumi./ I, using the power bestowed upon me as a celestial nymph, shall bring upon this being relief. The gift of light.)

Once Natsume said that, the light that was seeping out of Natsume traveled toward Rikuo and his injuries disappeared as if they never had been there in the first place. Natsume smiled "Do you feel better?"

Rikuo nodded and shouted in excitement "You're always so amazing! I wish you were officially in my Hyakki."

Natsume smiled at Rikuo's statement and then looked toward the way Tsuchigumo had left "Now then, I should head to where he went and get Tsurara-chan back."

He was about to leave when Rikuo said "I'm going too. I can't stay here without saving Tsurara." Natsume nodded and transformed into his fox form.

"Anyone else that wants to come?" Natsume asked calmly.

Itaku stepped up. "I'll go. I need to observe more closely how my student has grown."

After both were safely on his back, Natsume jumped up into the air and started flowing through the air to where Tsuchigumo was at. Natsume landed perfectly and the two hopped off, Natsume effortlessly turning back into his human form. Natsume led the way inside where Tsuchigumo was drinking with Tsurara hanging off a beam. Natsume sighed and said, "You know you didn't have to take her hostage to get me to be here right? You could have just started with a 'Long time no see Natsume' or something like that."

Tsuchigumo laughed "I know I know. But I was in a hurry then you know? I wanted to fight you as soon as possible."

Natsume took out a huge bottle, twice the height of him, of sake from nowhere. Rikuo and Itaku wondered where Natsume got the bottle from. Natsume with the huge bottle at his side asked "Can you just put the fight to a different day? I'm still tired so. I'll give you this bottle so give me back Tsurara-chan. Besides, I would rather not fight someone like you who's not evil."

Tsuchigumo took a drag from his pipe (I forgot the actual name for those types of pipes) and exhaled the smoke, "No can do. I haven't fought enough yet. If you want this girl to be free then fight."

Rikuo stepped forward "Natsume, you can stay back. I'll fight this one. He took one of my important comrades hostage. As the leader I have to fight."

Natsume nodded "You heard him Tsuchigumo. And let me warn you. Don't underestimate Rikuo-kun. He's strong."

Tsuchigumo looked down at Rikuo and said "Oh really. Then I'm excited. Don't let me down 'kay."

Rikuo smirked "Of course not. I'll defeat you with no hassle and get Tsurara back." Once he said that, everyone was trapped inside a battlefield with boundaries made up of spider webs. The fight began immediately. Rikuo had definitely gotten better since he had already faced Tsuchigumo once, but that still wasn't enough to defeat him. He needed more power, just like the time he used matoi with Zen. Rikuo came to a realization that there was another who he could possibly use matoi with. He called out "Itaku, let me borrow your youki. Become one with me!"

Itaku was confused, but he felt something different about Rikuo, as if he could completely entrust himself to him. Itaku released all his youki, and he realized that it was getting taken in by Rikuo. All of Itaku's youki was transferred to Rikuo, and Rikuo unleashed an attack "重ね色紫音の鎌 (Kasaneiro Shion no Kama/ Multi-layered purple scythe)"

Tsuchigumo's arms were cut off, and the fight was over. Rikuo had shown the difference in osore, which is what decides battle between youkai. Although Tsuchigumo could have regenerated his arms, he understood that the fight was already over. Tsuchigumo smirked "Here you can have her back." He took Tsurara down and handed her to Rikuo, making sure he was gentle so that Natsume would not be angry, and took the huge bottle of sake that Natsume had summoned earlier. He started walking away and sighed "I guess that's enough fighting for today. Can't wait until Nue is back though."

Natsume's fox ears perked up at the mention of the name. He lowered his head "I can't let a being like him come back to this world. He has done too much wrong." He looked straight at Tsuchigumo "So, sorry Tsuchigumo, but you won't be able to fight him since I am going to force him out of this world."

Tsuchigumo laughed "Well I can't wait to see that happen. Since your guys' strength is on the same level, I wonder who is gonna win." Tsuchigumo bid goodbye and ran off into the distance.

Rikuo and Itaku wondered just who this 'Nue' was and what connection he had with Natsume. They also couldn't believe that there was another being in this world that was on par with Natsume's, the one known as the God of Youkai's, level.
