Natsume the Youkai God Chapter 3

A/N: Hey guys I am back with the new chapter! I hope that last one was interesting. Also I've changed a few events' orders in this chapter to fit this story. Anyways, let's get on with the story.

Natsume pouted slightly and said to Akagappa "I would prefer if you don't call me that. I'm not someone that can be revered."

Akagappa nodded but said "Even so, you are a guest. We are not going to let our guest do something like chores. Go check up on Itaku and the Sandaime (Third Generation)."

Natsume, after saying his goodbyes to Akagappa and the other Kappa in the room, left for the forest where Itaku is. He followed Rikuo's presence that was left when Rikuo entered the forest. He soon arrived at the training place. What he saw was Rikuo getting beat up from training by Itaku.

Seeing the scene Natsume smiled and said "I see you're the same as always Itaku-kun."

Hearing that Itaku stopped his attack on Rikuo and went towards Natsume. He then kneeled in front of Natsume as if he was a ninja facing an absolute master (the cool pose that a ninja takes in anime). He said "It's been a while Natsume-san. Did you have anything you wanted from us?" All the other youkai except for Rikuo bowed at Natsume.

Natsume quickly told them to raise their heads since it made him uneasy. After they all stood straight in front of him, Natsume responded to Itaku's previous question "I don't have anything I need. I'm just here to look at Rikuo-kun's growth and also to thank you guys for helping him. So thank you." Natsume smiled at all of them and bowed a little.

All the youkai except for Rikuo quickly told Natsume to raise his head since they couldn't stand seeing someone so powerful bowing to them. Natsume raised his head and looked over at Rikuo and asked "So Rikuo-kun. How much did you grow while I wasn't here?"

Itaku answered for him "He seems to have finally grasped his osore's nature but he doesn't know how to use it properly. All he can do is make himself an illusion."

Natsume nodded and looked at Rikuo and said "That's still great progress compared to before. At this pace you might be able to master it in two months."

Hearing what Natsume said, Rikuo decided to try his best to master his osore as soon as possible. From that day on, Rikuo trained relentlessly with Itaku and the others under Natsume's supervision. Two months went by really quick and Rikuo indeed mastered his osore. He was now able to stand his ground against Itaku.

The next day Rikuo was getting ready to leave. He said his farewell to Akagappa and the other youkai he was under the care of. Natsume was on edge because of what Akagappa had told him about one of Hagoromo Gitsune's subordinates coming to him for warriors and that he refused, but he expertly hid that and said farewell to the youkai as well.

Natsume went to where Rikuo was talking to Itaku and the others. He notified them about the expected attack that would come soon and told them that he would not fight unless a more powerful youkai appeared.

Soon enough the attack came. It was an attack composed of two medium youkai and one powerful youkai. Rikuo fought with a stick on the ground using his osore. Rikuo was having a hard time until Itaku threw the previously confiscated Nenekirimaru at Rikuo. Rikuo caught it and used it to kill the two medium youkai. All that was left was the one powerful youkai.

Rikuo went to slash at him but the youkai just dodged the attack and slashed at him instead. If Rikuo hadn't activated his osore he would have been a goner.

The powerful youkai tsked and said "That sword and osore, you must be that detested Nurarihyon's grandson. That imbecile that went against Hagoromo Gitsune-sama."

Rikuo went to slash at him again out of anger, but like before his attack was dodged. The youkai said to Rikuo "I did not plan on killing you now as I want to make you suffer and die, but if you wish to fight so much I can injure you and let you have a taste of my power."

The youkai went to attack Rikuo but Natsume landed between them. With anger in his voice he said to the youkai, "Enough. If you don't want to die then leave this place now Kidōmaru."

The mentioned youkai tsked and said "I see you are on their side Natsume. If only you chose our side we would have been unstoppable. But that does not matter. I will leave as I still have to serve Hagoromo Gitsune-sama." He then looked over at Rikuo and said "Next time we meet I will surely kill you. In Kyoto where we reside." After saying that he left.

Natsume calmed down and told Rikuo "Rikuo-kun, we need to go back to the Nura mansion. You need to make your own army of youkai and join forces with the onmyouji." Natsume then looked over at Itaku and the others and asked "Are you guys coming?" They nodded and said it was because Rikuo asked them nicely earlier.

Natsume smiled and asked Rikuo to cut the osore of the village. He did easily and they left the village. Once outside, Natsume turned into his huge fox form. The youkai were in awe at the beauty of the form when Natsume told them to hop on and hold tight. Everyone did and soon they were flying really fast. As they got farther away from the village, Rikuo's form reverted to that of his human form.

This was the first time for Itaku and the others to see Rikuo's human form so it was difficult for them to grasp that the arrogant youkai Rikuo was the same person as this shy and polite human. Well, they just have to get used to it.
