James Potter ~ Arranged marriage
Summary: you are Sirius's twin sister and you are both in Gryffindor therefore are both a disgrace to the Black family. Your mother was particularly hard on you as the only girl and has always tried to manipulate you into her perfect daughter. You are dating James Potter however your parents still try to find a suitable man for you to marry.
Y/N's POV:
"Happy Birthdayyyyyy!!!" What the hell? Who wakes people up like that unless...
Oh my god, it's my birthday! I wake up and look around to find Lilly, Marlene and Alice scattered around my bed, their bright and cheery faces expressing their excitement.
"Get up, the boys wanted to come up but ended up sliding down the stairs, quite amusing actually, they're waiting downstairs," Lilly informed me.
"I don't want to get up, I'm comfy here"
"You better get down there before they find a way up here, I don't want those foul creatures up here" Marlene said pulling me out of bed by my arms.
"Ok, ok, geez. I'll go, no need to rip my arm off" I muttered back, reluctantly getting out of bed. I grabbed my robe and walked down the stairs, more like stomped down them. Once I reached the bottom, I got attacked with hugs from the famous marauders, James, Sirius, Remus and Peter.
"Happy birthday Y/N!!" They all cheered, nearly making me deaf in the process,
"Thanks guys, Happy birthday Siri!!" I greeted them, jumping on Sirius and giving my brother a great big bear hug.
"Hey, what about my hug?" I heard my pathetic boyfriend complain,
"Awww, is the great James Potter jealous?"
I look at him and smirk, despite my hate for my family, the famous Black smirk runs in the family.
"Come here love," I summoned him but instead of him running toward me as he normally would, he calmly walked towards me and then held my sides and gave me a sweet, passionate kiss.
The sparks were there, they always were.
"Eeww, my eyes. That's my sister Potter!"
Time skip to the evening:
We were all sitting round in the common room, me on James' lap whilst Remus and Sirius sat on the floor. Peter sat opposite us, nearest to the fire. We were all laughing at a joke someone told, probably Sirius, when my owl swooped in, carrying a letter with fancy writing on the top.
"Who's that from?" Remus asked when he saw my eyes darken.
I ignored him as I ripped open the letter and scanned the writing, tears brimming my eyes.
How could they? I knew they hated me but not this much. My parents. I can't believe it. They promised. Well, you can never trust them. I know that now.
The room was now silent, the boys sat there watching me in anticipation, confused at the sudden mood change.
"Y/N, who is it from?" Remus snapped me out of my daze.
I ignored him yet again and threw the letter into the fire. Then I ran. I don't know where but I ran.
Remus' POV:
She just ran, she didn't even reply to my question.
"What did it say?" Sirius asked, looking towards James,
"I didn't see, she read it too quickly but I know it was from her parents, I recognised the signature at the bottom.
That reminded me, the letter. It was in the fire.
"Peter, can you get the letter out of the..." I stopped speaking when I saw the letter in his hands. Sirius ripped the letter from him, his eyes scanning the page.
"Shit."
And at that, he ran. People have got to stop doing that. The paper fell to the floor again, this time away from the fire. I hesitantly picked it up, and read it over a few times. I didn't understand, I thought her parents said they weren't marrying her off. I heard James gasp, giving me the indication that he also had read the letter.
The letter had said:
Dear daughter,
As you have just turned 16, we have decided it is time for you to find a suitable
husband. With you being in the ghastly house of Gryffindor, we thought it best we pick for you. Luckily, in this short period of time, we have found someone. You will marry Lucius Malfoy as soon as you finish your education at Hogwarts. If you go against our decisions for you, you will be turned away from the Black family.
Your parents,
Walburga and Orion Black
This is bad. This is really bad. I looked at James and saw the worry in his eyes, we both thought the same thing and ran after Y/N, leaving Peter confused in the common room.
We ran around the castle looking for the two siblings and finally found them not far from Professor McGonagall's classroom. Sirius's arms were wrapped around Y/N's shoulders while she sobbed into his chest.
"Shh, it's alright." We heard Sirius say as we got closer to them,
"Do you really think I'm going to let you marry some conceited, awful person our mother picked out? Do you really think James will let you marry someone who isn't him?"
"Ain't that the truth,"
Y/N lifted her head to see us standing there watching, a smile forming at James' remark. It broke my heart to see my best friend standing there with tears running down her face,
"They'll have to kill all of us before you get married to some stranger" I tell her, her tears starting to dry.
"Thanks Remy" I pull her towards me, burying her face in my neck.
"Why am I always the last to get a hug?"
We all laughed as James and Y/N shared a passionate kiss, much to Sirius' displeasure.
3rd person:
Little did they know they were right outside professor McGonagall's classroom, and although she knew the challenges the Blacks were facing at home, she smiled, for she knew the friendship they held would protect them from what was to come.
