Chapter 18

As we were running to Hannah's house I mind linked to Cole, "You should talk to her more this time."  

"I know I know." 

"So you're going to talk to her more? You're not just going to sit there?" 

"Yes I won't just sit there." 

"Good."

We continue running through the woods until we got to the road leading to her house. We heard the sound of a car and I backed into the woods but Cole stayed close to the road. 

"Cole get back here! You don't want them to see you!" 

 But Cole didn't move and let the car pass him. I didn't think twice and as soon as the car passed by him I tackled him and we rolled into the bushes.

"What were you thinking!? You're risking the whole pack!" I now had Cole pinned down but it was obvious that he let me. 

"I'm sorry Rose. I wasn't thinking. I could smell Hannah's scent and I couldn't seem to make myself move."  I sighed and rolled off him and walked to the road shifting back to being human. 

I started shaking I don't know why but I couldn't control it. I desperately wished that Claudia was here. 

"Rose I'm sorry ok?" I nod and Cole pulls me to his chest and I just held on to him until the shaking stops. 

Once the shaking stops Cole unwraps his arms around me and asks "Are you ok?" 

I take a deep breath and smile "Yes. Now let's go see your girl." He laughed and we walked to Hannah's house.

When we knocked she opened the door immediately. 

"My two favorite people! Hello. Did you by any chance see a big blonde wolf by the side of the road?" I started softly laughing. 

Cole punched me lightly in the shoulder which only made me laugh harder. I punched him back and gave him a look telling him to talk. 

"No we did not." 

"Oh ok. But it was beautiful and it is a shame that you didn't see it." This made me laugh even harder. 

We followed Hannah into her house and sat down on the couch. 

"So I have been learning sign language because I want to be able to speak to you and understand it too." 

"That's so sweet. Thank you. But you didn't have to."  I signed. Cole translated it. 

"No I always wanted to learn but I never really had the motivation. Ok I'm going to try and say something. Are you ready?" Me and Cole nod. 

"I like pickle pie." Cole and I burst out laughing. 

"What? What did I say?" Hannah said looking at us with a confused look and her face. 

"You said 'I like pickle pie.'" Cole said and then started laughing again.  

"Oh." she said looking a little disappointed. I tap Cole on the shoulder "Teach her."  

"But I-" he started to sign back but I stopped his hands. 

"Fine." he muttered and I smiled at him. 

He turned to Hannah "What were you trying to say?" 

She looked down embarrassed and said "I was trying to say that I like having you guys over." 

Cole nodded and I could see a faint blush on his cheeks. "Ok, so that would be this." he said and signed to her slowly. 

Cole taught Hannah the basic signs for sign language. We were laughing and having fun but when we said we had to leave she pouted and begged us to stay. I could see Cole struggling to control himself. 

"I wish I could but I do have to go."  I signed. I felt bad. I wanted to stay but I wanted to see Claudia more. 

"Oh ok." she said sounding disappointed. I turned to Cole and tapped him and he turned to face me "Why don't you stay here a little bit longer." 

Cole looked at me with a panicked expression. 

"You can't leave me alone!" 

"You'll be fine." I signed with a reassuring smile. He sighed and I stood up. Hannah did as well. We hugged and both of them walked me do the door. 

"Come back soon ok Rose?" I nod and smiled. 

Cole leaned down and whispered "You'll be ok heading back by yourself?" I nodded. 

"Ok it's just a few miles to the pack's territory if anything happened mind link me ok?" 

I nod and signed "Cole I'll be fine. Go bond with your mate." 

He gave me a quick hug and I walked out the door and waved as they closed the front door behind me.
