Roman's POV
"Curse this weather" I hiss shivering,
Me, Logan and Patton are waiting on the sidewalk basically in a thunder storm waiting
for a cab. Since no of us drive (unless a special occasion) or own a car.
"Why did we put this off today?" I ask looking at Logan and Patton who are sharing a rain jacket.
"How did you keep your relationship hidden for this long?" I ask. They've bin all touchy-feely all morning.
"We're good at hiding it around other people" Patton smiles "so we're a little more touchy when it's just us"
"It's still impressive, I don't know if I could hind my feelings for that long" I chuckle
"Trust me Roman, it wasn't easy, for the first part of are relationships it was easy. But the more I fell in love with him the harder it was to conceal" Logan states as our cab pulls up.
(Timeskip)
We got the stuff and are walking up the apartment stairs, when Patton stops me. "So Virgil's a harpy?" He asks
"He told you?"
"Yeah, Logan knows too"
"Oh"
Buzz
I look down at my phone and grunt, "of course he needs money"
"Another text from your brother?" Logan asks
"Yeah, he's asking for money again." I sigh unlocking the apartment door. Hearing the faint sound of crying, "Virgil?"
"Oh my god, Virgil!" I run over to him surrounded by his wings in the corner.
"Stop using his face!" He screams "j-just go away" he cries shaking
Patton and Roman walk in seeing Virgil's current state. "Kiddo" Patton cries running over to give him a hug.
"It's okay, your okay" Patton coos calming Virgil down.
"I'm sorry" Virgil mutters putting down his wings after calming down a bit.
"It's okay kiddo, can you tell us what happened?"
"I-I just remembered something"
"Must of been something commodity unfortunately" Logan says readjusting his glasses.
"Yeah, i-it was just someone I use to know" He whispers giving me a strange look.
"Hey kiddo" Patton whispers turning Virgil's head so they were eye to eye. "You're safe here"
"Okay, I think I'm gonna go to my room" He nod slowly standing up.
"do you want me to come?" I ask running up to him
"no, I just wanna be alone right now" he says walking away
"What's wrong with him?" I whisper.
(Time skip) Virgil's POV
I sit in my bed room starring up at the stairs, "why couldn't I just of bin born human?" I ask
"Hey kiddo" Patton says walking into my room. "wanna walk about it?" He asks sitting in my bed
"Like you know anything" I muffle into my sleeve.
"Your from lux rubrum right?"
"Yeah, most people don't know the name"
"I'm from the quisquiliae civitatem, so I understand more then you think"
"You're from the slums?"
"Yeah, hard to tell. Huh" he smiles "I get why you lived in lux rubrum, it's closer to the demon world so there's less people hunting for hybrid then in the slums"
"Yeah"
"So what scared you earlier?"
"Someone from my past came to visit me" I say curling into a ball "I'm not a good person"
"Of course you are" Patton say giving me a hug.
"But I did so many bad things" I begin to cry.
"Doing bad things doesn't make you a bad person, not regretting those things makes you a bad person"
"He wants me to do something"
"Virgil, you don't have to do anything you don't want to do"
"No, no. If I don't do he's going to tell people about me and" I stop midway threw my sentence. "He knows about you and Logan"
"Virgil, that was a secret" Patton backs away looking like he's going to cry.
"I know, I'm sorry if I didn't move here then I wouldn't of messed everything up" I start crying again
"Hey, hey you didn't mess anything up. Me and Logan worked really hard on are relationship and I'm not gonna let some blackmailing jerk mess it up, what dose he want you to do?"
"You know the auction? There's a hybrid in it and he wants me to bring her back to the slums"
"That's gonna be hard" Patton hums "the auctions always has a lot of security"
"He also brought up my mom"
"Oh, what was she like. Your mom"
"Amazing, she's one of the hardest working people I know. She safes all of her money to one day move to the city"
"Dose she live here now?"
"No, she had me and decided to spend that money on getting me a citizenship. So I could have the chance to live here"
"You're right your mom is amazing"
"What about you? How did you and Logan get together?"
"Now that kiddo is a long story, are you sure you want to here it?"
"Yeah" I nod "I should know how my dads got together"
"Well let me see, it all started three years ago.."
