Virgil's POV
"You're not telling that old story again?" Logan asks walking in the room.
"I think it sweet" I smile "I can't believe you drank alcohol Logan"
"He did" Logan chuckles
"A year later and you still can't handle your alcohol" Logan laughs
"Shut up" Patton playfully pushes him, "I should probably get started on dinner"
"Are you gonna wear your apron again?" Logan asks
"You know I will" Patton smiles giving him a quick kiss.
Once there both gone, I'm left alone with my thoughts. What happens if I'm caught stealing the girl? I could end up getting sold too. But if I don't I'll get sold and people will know about Logan and Patton's relationship. So either way I'm screwed. I can't stop think about what deceit said about Roman. "This is stupid" I complain
The auctions postponed to next week, when the rain stops. I'll get the girl, go back to the spot and this nightmare can be over.
(Time skip: to next week)
"Are you ready" Roman ask twirling his friends van keys between his fingers. I convinced Roman to help me, since he has access to windowless van.
"Yeah" I nod grabbing my beanie, "remember I'll meet you in the malls parking lot."
"I know, we've went over the plan like 70 times now"
"I know, I just don't want anything to go wrong"
We drive to the auction house we're me and Roman split up. I head towards the back of the house we're the merchandise is kept, thanks google maps.
"Oh wow! Look at all these weird feathers!" I hear Roman yell from the main entrance. As I expected the people in the back went to see what the fuss was about. Perfect time for me to pick the lock and slip in.
"Hey" I whisper running over to the girl in the cage, "your dad sent me, I'm gonna get you out of here"
"Really?" The girl asks
"Just stay quite" I whisper picking the lock
"Do you hear that?" A worker asks walking back stage, lucky by then my and the girl were hidden behind the pillar.
"I didn't hear anything" another worker shrugs "apparently a guy found weird feather out front. Who know they could be a harpy"
"Yeah, then we could retire early" the first man laughs
"This may hurt" I whisper clipping her ears to her head and covering it with my Beanie, were she grunts.
"Here" I say handing her a Jean jumpsuit, wear it over of your clothes
"Okay" she nods
Once we're outside, I hold her closely as we walk towards the mall's parking lot. Roman should be there by now. We approach a large group of people we're I hold on to the girls hand tighter, and can feel my heart beat faster and faster.
"Hey there," a man stops us. Where I start shaking, feeling like my heads going to explode or my hearts gonna beat right out of my chest. "The actions that way, friend" he points behind us
"Oh, I promise to buy my sister a doll before the a-auction starts" I stutter
"Oh, well I would hurry if I were you" he nudges my shoulder "I heard they have a hybrid this year"
"Well we better get going, if we're going to make the auction" I smile storming past him.
"That was close" I let out a sigh of relief as we sit in the back of Roman's van.
"Thank you" the girl begins to sod, "I was so scared"
"It's okay" I smile "you're going to be okay"
Roman drive us the edge of the city, five minutes away from the meeting spot. "I'll see you later" I hug Roman.
"Promise, you'll be okay?"
"Yeah, I'll be back before you know it" I wave goodbye walk off with the girl.
"Are you two dating?" She asks
"N-no" I say embarrassed
"Do you like him?"
"Well, I mean yeah." I shrug "I like him a lot"
"So why aren't you to dating?"
"Because, you know what happened to the little girl that asked to many questions?"
"She got answers"
I slightly smile as we reach an old falling down building. All the windows are broken, the doors we're torn off. And the left side of the building collapsed from the elements. "Where are we?" She asks squeezing my hand.
"Don't worry about it" I smile bring her inside.
"Deceit! Where here" I yell to the room, where a figure emerges from the dark.
"Well Virgil" deceit walks forward doing a little golf clap, "don't you deserve a round of applause, I never thought you actually do it"
"Whatever, I brought the girl now stay the fuck away from me"
"Oh calm down Virgil, can't we have some fun for old time's sake?" He asks playing with my hair
"No we can't" I push him away
"You little" he whispers
"That hurts" I cry as he squeezes the top of my wings,
"Listen hear you little shit, I own you. You and me will never be even, and when ever I call you you you'll come, understand?"
"Yes" I nod where he let's go,
"Go back to your boy toy, I'll be in contact soon"
I run out of the building, threw the town over to Roman van, as soon as I jump in I begin to weep. "What's wrong?" He asked
" Nothing, just bad memories" I lie wiping away my tears "we should get home"
"Are you sure your okay?" He asks holding his hand.
"Yeah, I am" I smile
We drive along the highway stopping at a park, "where are we?"
"A change of scenery" Roman smiles "you've been stuck in the house for awhile and I thought you could us a change of pace. And I brought sandwiches"
"Was this you're plan the whole time" I laugh "taking me on a dinner date?"
It takes me a moment to realize what I said, "is this a date?" I blush
"Only if you want it to be" he blushes, great now where both embarrassed.
We walk around the park for awhile, "I can't believe they bought those fake feathers" Roman laughs
"You did a good job painting them, you couldn't tell they were from the dollar store"
"Well they weren't as beautiful as the original" he smiles
"Hey Roman?" I say grading his hand, "Logan and Patton told me how they got together this morning and I was wondering.." I blush this is way to embarrassing.
"What wrong Virgil?"
"Would you.. um..do you" screw it, I pull him towards me connecting are lips, "would you like to go out with me?"
