Roundel: Faith

I looked upon the sky and asked, "God, can you yet hear me?"

And as the sky looked back it said, "No, I am not listening."

So with a hard and heavy sigh I turned my head from thee.

"God, can you yet hear me?"

And so I turned to face the earth, "Devil, are you hearing?"

The earth replied without hesitation, :Yes, my dear," sweetly.

Yet my faith, it dare not let the devil's voice be tempting

So I reached for my cross that hung round my neck freely

I looked to the sky wondering still if He was listening

Then went on my way 'cause the point of faith is not to see

"God, can you yet hear me?"
