Zayn held Bloom's arm and guided her to the casket. She sobbed as she dropped the white flowers with trembling hands. No word could explain how she was feeling, a part of her was numb from the pain and the other part was holding on to her sanity."I'm so sorry," she cried as she stared at the polished black casket.
It'd been a sad week since Zayn told her about her dad's death. At first, she said it was a shame he chose an easy death and refused to show any form of emotion but after an hour of blaming him for every horrible thing he did, she broke down and cried. She blamed herself for his death because it happened after she announced his secrets to the whole world.
She remained miserable for a few days, avoiding everyone and barely letting a word out. The reaction from social media didn't help her situation, they still left awful comments and many were happy he was gone. He was called a coward for taking his own life and that he was rotting in the deepest part of hell for his sins.
She had asked Mr. Grayson for a small funeral with no cameras or journalists. He helped with the funeral arrangements and her friends tried to be there for her. It was a small gathering with only fifteen people she was familiar with. Aunt Matilda was still in a coma and many workers at the Valley House were fired after the incident.
He did awful stuff but she never wanted him dead. She was hoping he would get a life sentence, maybe prison would make him a better person and he would be released on good behavior. She cried as they lowered his casket six feet down. She wrapped her arms around Zayn as they covered his casket with sand.
She sat there after the funeral service was over, staring at his grave. She never imagined this day would come, he didn't even receive an honorable funeral. She wiped the dry tears in her eyes away.
She felt someone sit next to her on the bench.
"How are you holding up?" Mr. Grayson asked.
"I will be fine," she said not looking his way.
"I have a room ready for you at my house, everyone is happy to have you." He told her.
"No, thank you for the generous offer but I don't want that," Bloom said, giving him a glance.
"All your Dad's assets were seized." He informed her.
"I know, I don't need them anyway."
"Do you wanna move to another country or a different state? Or you want a new identity, or to stay hidden at the organization?" he asked.
She was relieved when she found out he was still going to be funding the Antisam and the new goal was to fight corrupt leaders in the country. They were requiting new members.
"No," she said laughing softly at the questions.
"I'm going to move into the apartment with my friends. All I want is for you to support me in my education, I want to write my final exams and apply for the College of my choice."
"Is that all?"
"Yes, that's all." She smiled.
"Okay, you have my full support." He told her with a smile.
"I will see you another time, take good care of yourself, Bloom."
"Thank you, Mr. Grayson."
She took one last look at her Dad's grave before standing up. She joined her friends on the sidewalk.
"Hey," Nicole smiled at her.
"Can we go to a bar and have some drinks? And by drinks I mean alcohol." Bloom said and they all stared at her in surprise.
