Zayn took off the white hoodie he had on and pressed it to where she was bleeding. He put one arm around her, holding her tightly his chest.
"Stay with me, Sunflower. Don't close your eyes."
He whispered caressing her cheeks with one bloody hand. Bloom tried to focus on his voice, she fought to keep her eyes open but she could feel herself detaching from her body.
"Told you I will get to her first. Good luck with saving her. She won't make it, Zayn," Max said from afar.
If he wasn't trying to save the love of his life he would have reached for his gun and put a bullet in every artery in his body. He was too scared to let her go, too terrified to look away from her face, not even a glance.
The rage that coursed through his veins was too intense to control. His thirst for vengeance eclipsed his thoughts. The soft sound that left Bloom's lips snapped him back to reality before him.
"Don't close your eyes, look at me," Zayn whispered.
"I'm not done with you, Santiago."
Max told him before walking away with the red team.
Zayn knew the person in the red team that shot her, Max would only call the best shooter in the Agency for the job and he knew exactly who it was. He felt betrayed, but he knew the Antisam loyalty came first.
"You're dead Caleb!"
Zayn yelled at their retreating forms, the vein in the middle of his forehead jutted out in anger as he spoke.
"You can't do anything to him, he's under full protection now," Max said out loud and cackled. Zayn took a glance at them with a hardened jaw, feeling helpless.
Bloom raised her hand feebly and placed it on Zayn's hand that held the piece of clothing against where she was shot. He turned to look at her and ignored Max.
"Hold this," he told her, placing her hand on the hoodie.
"Put some pressure, okay. You'll be fine, I promise."
He said, smiling at her.
He reached for his phone and dialed 911, he told them he found the President's daughter, and she was critically injured. He hid his gun inside his jeans and waited.
"Stay with me, I'm right here, I'm not going anywhere," he pulled her to his chest and placed a kiss on her forehead.
"I'm right here, I will always be here," he whispered, crying.
"I love you, I have loved you since the day you smiled at me."
He said and she smiled weakly at him. What more could she ask for? It was the best way to die.
"I never stopped hoping in the impossible, I will always wait for you," he told her caressing her cheeks and urging her to stay awake.
Soon two ambulances arrived with six police cars and the FBI convoys.
He ignored the officers that tried to get a statement from him. Reporters were already arriving with large cameras and microphones.
He followed Bloom into the ambulance with no shirt on, the paramedics refused to let him take Tumika with him into the ambulance. One of the cops took Tumika in his car and followed the ambulance behind.
"I'm right here, hang in there," he whispered and squeezed her hand as the paramedics put on an oxygen mask on her face.
"Keep talking to her," one of the paramedics told him as he tore the piece of material around where she was bleeding with a scissor.
"I have waited so long to get you back, I can't lose you now. Fight it, Bloom," he whispered stroking her hair.
He took a glance at the small heart monitor and kept talking.
