[chapter 5]

Today was Saturday which means I had no school. Today was a free day, which means I get do what I want. So me being the childish person I am, I decided to have a sleepover with Gabriella. she was surprisingly available, despite the fact that she's usually busy. So we planned all day of what we were gonna eat and what we were gonna watch.
We both agreed that I'll bring the snacks and she will bring the movies. I was walking to the grocery store as it wasn't that far from where I live. But I couldn't help but to feel myself being watch. I would catch something at the corner of my eye but it would disappear by the second I turn around to face it. I took a deep breath to calm my nerves as I continue to walk. In the distance the grocery store. As soon I walked in the smell of fresh produce was everywhere. I went into the  candy aisle I try to memorize the things I need.
•Rice crispy treats

•Marshmallows

•strawberries

•chocolate fondue

I've already gotten the chocolate fondue and the marshmallows, all I need now was the rice crispy treats. Eventually I did find it as I putted into the crate of the ingredients I needed. Now all need was strawberries. I was on my way to the fresh produce section but only to realize that was heading the wrong direction. I then turned around but to only meet a familiar hoodie.

I was curious to know so I taped their shoulder. To my surprise it was Toby.

"Hey!"

"Hey you" he said as he smiles softly.

"What are you doing here?"

"I was *tics* t-trying to f-find a certain something but they must've r-ran out..." Toby said as he rubbed the back of his neck.

'How odd...'

"A-And I see you have...marshmallows and r-r-rice crispy treats?" He said as he raised his eyebrow in confusion.

"Yeah I'm having a sleepover with my friend, umm I was about to get the strawberries but sense you're here...wanna walk and talk?"

He then smiled and nodded.
"Sure"
"Great!"

-time skip-

We finished are shopping as we were now walking together and talking about are childhood.

"So you never had a friend when you were little?"

"Nope...I was h-homeschooled through out my whole life. Apparently I wasn't f-f-fitted for a normal school surrounding...No body would accept me...no one would talk to me cause of *tics*my tics...they called me t-ticci Toby but I wasn't retarded...I was just, troubled...I'm sorry if I'm making this depressing, what was your childhood like?"

At this very moment he was being so open about his past. I don't think I ever had a full conversation with him before.

"Well, to be honest...my parents wasn't really around with me. They would fight a lot and it usually ends with my dad leaving and my mother crying...I never opened myself up to anybody, but somehow people come into my life. Even if I didn't ask them too...but if anything...I'm glad you're my friend Toby..."

I don't know why or how but I feel like I can tell Toby everything, about my past, about my feelings and it will all be ok. I feel like I can be myself around him. Without realizing my face was feeling warm as I realized that I was blushing madly.
Their was a small quiet between us...did I made it awkward? Was that too far?

"So umm, [n-name] I was wondering if anytime you are available, m-maybe we could *tics* hangout? A-and if your not ready I completely unders-s-stand"

"Hmm, only if you do one thing for me."

"W-what?"

I took out my phone as I googled search for the pose that I want him to do. I couldn't help but to smile by the thought of it. Soon later on I did find the image and I showed it to Toby, his reaction was priceless. It was a pleading emoji along with two hands as both of the index fingers was pointing at each other.
(So basically this: 🥺👉👈)

"N-no..."

"Come on! please!"

"If I d-do it will you n-not laugh?"

"I promise."

He then obeyed and did the pose. I couldn't help but to smile and say "aww" his face was completely flustered.

"A-Am I done now?"

"Say what you said earlier, please, it'll make me happy."

" *sigh* fine..."

"[n-name], do you maybe w-wanna go out...w-with m-me?"

He said completely different but it meant the same meaning. But some how this feels different. My heart was feeling warm and fuzzy. I couldn't help but to blush because seeing Toby in this pose, was holesome...

"I'd love to."

-time skip-

It was really kind for Toby to walk me home. We still had time to talk, but we were mostly talking about are favorite childhood shows instead of sensitive topics.

"So you liked the backyardigans?"

"M-my favorite character was Austin...h-how about you?"

"Well honestly, I never gotten into the backyardigans but I did watched max and ruby when I was little."

"The show with the r-rabbits that are siblings?"

"Yup."

In the distance I see my house. I was actually disappointed that are walk and talk had to end so soon.

"Well, thank you toby for walking me home."

"It was my pleasure..."

I couldn't help but to hug Toby as I wrapped my arms around him. I can tell he was shock cause I abruptly hugged him without a warning. But later on, he hugged back. His body felt so warm. But sadly we had to part.
We then said are goodbyes as he walked off and I was walking to my front porch of my house. I noticed that the door was unlock. I was slowly panicking. I opened the door but only to be face with a surprise Gabriella with her eyes and mouth wide open. As she was in shock. She then unintentionally dropped the movies on the floor as she was speechless...

"What?" I asked.

"Who was that guy?"

Fuck...
