Being socially awkward isn't the most ideal thing that could ever happen. Especially since my family expects me to have tons of plans with a ton of friends.

My older brother, Michael, is not like me. Most popular guy in school, hottest one (according to all of the girls). Point is, my family expects me to be a younger version of my brother.
Completely loved by everybody and a girl that every guys wants.

But these are the main reasons that I almost never speak at dinner. Being lectured about how I should dress up more and put on makeup. I never hear the end.

Luckily, I have three best friends that don't give a shit about what people think of me.

Peter, who is about as socially awkward as I am, if not, worse. He never really talks unless somebody forces him to. He only gets loud at home because he doesn't have a problem with his family.

Matt, who is a fairly popular guy. He's only friends with me because we have a past from middle school. He plays football and basketball as a school sport.

Monica, who is an extreme girly girl and dresses up for school everyday. She's only friends with me because our moms are friends and we have known each other our whole lives.

My life is so exciting. (Note my sarcasm) But why is it so hard to make friends at Woods High? It's just a public high school that's filled with popular kids. Nothing too special, just a bunch of wannabes in one building for seven hours.

But I, Angela Carter, will never see a bright day in that high school due to my popular older brother, lack of friends, and my social awkwardness.
